All the Truly Yours Eps are dope & its what is listen from cole the most

He's spitting like his dope mixtape era while still having more advanced concepts/stories of his modern skills

Probably came out dope because he probably wasnt trying to "try to hard" & over stress those tracks

Truly Yours 2 is probably my fav out of them all

You real af Kenny Lofton is my s***, Cousins has one of his most underrated verses and 3 wishes is a dope storytelling track. Chris Tucker the only one I don't care for on TY2

Might be controversial but She Knows is horrible imo
I don't care for the title track. Horrible song to end an album, gets skipped everytime
Songs like Mo Money, Rich Niggaz, Ain't that some s*** are unnecessary and just add space to the tracklist imo

But I also think Power trip, LAnd of the snakes and Runaway are some of his best songs ever He has dope concepts for his albums but fumbles in the execution and just goes all over the place. Like BS has a lot of concepts thrown out there, but he fails to tie them together or provide a satisfying conclusion

Idk man the overarching theme of BS is there. Identifying and overcoming the darkness of the industry & fame he was dealing with at that point in his career. Songs like Trouble and She Knows tie into that with topics like cheating, material spending etc. You foul for including the title track and Rich Niggaz but to each their own

Nah fr he got some mid albums but at least they have few good songs that carry the album

But FHD and Off Season both good IMO and even though I f***ed with Born Sinner when it first dropped, it has definitely aged the worst out of all his projects

Born Sinner, FHD, KOD and 4YEO and all very important albums to me for different reasons. FHD and 4YEO being the better ones. But I feel like FHD is overrated and 4YEO underrated. So quote me on this: 4YEO is the best j cole project ever and one of the best hiphop albums of his decade. f*** yall

Looking at the tracklist again, there definitely are consistent themes. But Idk, there's something about the way he tackles the concepts on his albums that just comes across as amateur. Like a high school kid trying to write an essay, including everything he wants to address but running out of time before he gets to write the conclusion tying everything together

I know he constantly gets compared to Kendrick, but honestly I think Kendrick would've done a much better job if he made albums with the exact same concepts as BS, 4YEO and KOD
