But honestly leaks/unreleased tracks just reinforces my belief that gatekeeping music is dumb. Lotta artists have legitimately outstanding songs that will never see the light of day or be heard by people and that bums me out. And when you got artists like ASAP Rocky who be playing games with putting music out, ya damn right I'm gonna download those leaks and share em around.

RealRagerAre you the type of person to hide your "obscure" artist and/or song? If so why do you do what you do?
Is it a pretentious thing? Does it give you a sense of superiority that you listen to music that's not mainstream or popular?
If you ever get your hands on a leaks/snippets/unreleased etc...do you actively choose not to share it or play it around a friend or two? If it's in CDQ ofc, if it's potato quality, I understand.
I love J Dilla and have been trading his rare beats for years. When I used to get rare tapes I would leak them immediately to youtube like I did with the 97 batch in 2013. I soon realized that the best way to get rare material is to have rare material to trade for it and so I stopped leaking stuff. Since then I have amassed quite a huge collection of rarities and I'm hoping that one day, when I've obtained the couple of tapes I've always wanted, I'll have enough to not care if it all gets leaked.
