Just save your money man everything else is bullshit
Yea I've been doing that. I basically only work so it prevents me from spending much. Works out well so far
High end streetwear ($100-200 pieces) and random skincare products
Lol @ the random products. Gotta set a budget for both and stick to it. Not gonna say be minimalist but be more selective.
Also throw in 1-2 "cheap" dates a month; matinee movie day, dinner in etc. That meal kit I mentioned definitely upped my cooking game
U blowing through $1.600 a month on shopping, dates and clubbing while living with your parents & you feel like that's not enough?
My brother, I'm afraid it's over for you unless you got a trust fund you can dip into.

It’s a good life to have f*** you money and provide for your self and loved ones in a crisis

Yup
Mainly putting the extra money into our house fund, my personal savings, or paying off larger chunks of credit debt leftover from my wedding
As long as I have groceries and can afford gas that's just my life right now and that's fine cause I like being a workaholic

Workaholic is a nasty word but you genuinely seem to have a fine work-life balance and are future-proofing your enjoyment later down the line, so I can’t fault you
Self control with finances is an unsung skill: you’re either taught or you learn the hard way

Idc I love my job it is my life. Feels like my "me time" is best spent doing work/school
I'm just in the phase where I'll be working the most out of my entire life anyways. Once school is done and all that I'll drop like 15-20 hours off of my work week not counting what I spend on school too
$800 every 2 weeks
Why didn't you say that to begin with lmfao that is such a big difference
$800 every 2 weeks
Interesting,$400/wk,thats still not bad, unless your buying new expensive gear every week and clubbing all the time. Thats enough money to go grocery shopping, buy a weekly reward and go on dates etc

I thought getting paid on a biweekly/twice a month schedule was the norm
I thought getting paid on a biweekly/twice a month schedule was the norm
Nope, plenty of jobs pay weekly. What I hate about bi-weekly pay is that its easy to think your making more then what you are making. Happened to me back then
Even people with good jobs go into debt paying for their lifestyle
Yep,plenty of people with good/great jobs are house poor or lifestyle poor. All their money goes into their lifestyle, and then their broke
I thought getting paid on a biweekly/twice a month schedule was the norm
Hahaha no not really. I think weekly is most common, then biweekly but I could be wrong because I know salaried folk are usually biweekly
My wife is biweekly hourly and it sucks

Ya that's ruining my wife's ability to budget. It's aggravating

Weekly pay is easier to budget with forsure. I always put back a few hundred bucks ($400-$500,but most of the time $400)every week for bills and pay what ever bills with what I accumulated throughout the month, and put the rest in my savings.
Bi-weekly will f*** you over cause usually, that forces people to pay bills directly from their paycheck, and thats hard for people that like to splurge.

Yeah the way I'm doing it now is at the start of the month I just try to pre pay all the bills I can (damn credit and student loan interest bills aren't available until the 10th tho) and then at the end of the month whatever is leftover after rent is straight into savings
Sometimes it my paycheck is a lot higher than its supposed to be I'll put a few hundred in savings whenever I can
Edit I just did the math and sometime next week I can fully pay off all my credit debt for the first time in like a year too. Probably what I should do to have more money to put in savings now
with prices in 2023 ny, op aint lying.
but he needs to get his ass out of his parents home ASAP

Honestly,if your really responsible and you really have a steady income, try and pay all your bills right on time(except your rent, make sure your paying as much as you can on rent). Helps you make sure you got everything you need before bills and, fuck these folks, they'll get their money when they get it(on time )

Yeah I think I've been good on all this. I've never paid a bill late which was why I opened some cards in the first place (like 5 years ago) cause I was drowning in car insurance
Looks like I'll be debt free on credit in under a week actually which I didn't realize till no
Wife struggles with this and I have to cover her for groceries all the time

Yea man,pay your s*** or find out. I just got debt free around the first of this yr. Wish HS taught about Credit Scores and bills instead of pretending like we're all gonna progress to be rocket scientist. Oh well,we're growing,we're learning.
