Since not many people go to the gym I work at it sometimes feels like a waste of 5-6hrs because I could dedicate that time to take some freelance work that can potentially pay more. Having something steady is important in the "gig" industry though.
Time. But I do so little at my job that I spend a lot of the time reading, sketching, online errands, etc so it’s not the worst time waste. Plus my coworkers are fun so it’s not the worst
What job

You work front desk?
Barely work more than 30 hrs and still get paid for 40 get insane benefits, great health coverage, and I’m lucky to have nice co workers. Government jobs are lit if you can find the right agency. Also I still work out 6 days a week and go home for lunch have a cooked meal. My commute went from 45 mins to to literally 3 mins
man i had an offer for the intelligence community and these niggas told me to go do another SF-86 and that I can’t transfer my existing processing and TS/SCI w/ FSP
told them to go f*** themselves not going through that s*** again lmao

Nah I'm an on the floor fitness instructor and PT

how the pay looking like?

I see you looking for some future options incase things don't work out for you on Monday
But on the real just doing my fitness floor job I get paid $17/hr and when I train a client for PT I can get up to $25/hr. It's cool but whenever I'm working with a client it's normally for just two hours. So not a significant amount of time to really make a difference, but it's a nice lil bonus if I'm working with 3 clients in a week.
I have a mid class salary, but could care less about moving up the ladder
Still live with my family, so literally every paycheck goes into my mutual fund..saved 60k in the last 3 years alone
With compound interest, plan to retire at 45 or earlier
Of course, I know I am incredibly lucky, as not everyone even has family to live with, or has a good relationship with them
W
Everyone should be taking their retirement accounts seriously tbh, a lot of people don’t at our age

I could do full time but I'm only doing part time to make room for work in my field that I'd like to get a career in.
Honestly I recommend completing a personal trainer course to get your license/certification. Easy lil side hustle that can pay handsomely if you in the right area. Or just straight up working at a gym, they normally have flexible hours and pretty decent pay depending on the gym. Another nice lil side job to dip your toes in and see if it's something you want to pursue. Opportunity to meet some cool people who can possible hook you up with another good job if you're interested. Had a few old dudes tryna hook me with an electrician job. That pays very well, I'm just not interested in that lol

What’s yo field g?
taking a summer job in my off time before my next semester
they have me as a movie theater usher doing 8 hour shifts, and its mind numbingly boring. I started to have major anxiety about doing this 30 hours a week.
But I told them I want to work concessions primarily when I applied, and my training for that starts next week.
I know they wanted me to cross train, but I really hope they dont have me doing this s*** too often. I'd rather be a waiter than stand in a dark hallway waiting for theaters to get out while I try to somehow look busy in the down time.
F***kkkkkkkkkkkk
I need to take deep breaths and remind myself that I can quit this s*** anytime I want.
What’s yo field g?
Audio and video editing, post and regular production. Film and TV s*** basically. Covid f***ed a lot of stuff up last year so it's basically a mad dash for work rn so it's about getting yourself out there and building up a reel so you can land a steady job and higher paying job.
My free time and mental health. Working front desk while having to play captain save an old head if s*** go left while on top of having to deal with snappy family members mad at me for the rules the ceo set like I can do anything about that and having to make sure people don’t park in the back and having to get into it with them over rules they know is exhausting and so frustrating. Then when you add on how I’ve been holding it down for our team and pulling in extra shifts and hours since people been calling off and in the process of hiring someone new. I’ve been beat the last month.
