    Examples

MJ and Prince - Beatles and Elvis
Whitney and Janet - Celine and Madonna
    Jay/Nas - Eminem
Boys II Men and Jodeci - N’Sync n Backstreet B
Beyonce and Usher - Britney n Timberlake
    Chris Brown - Justin Beiber
    Frank Ocean - Taylor Swift

The talent scale is disproportionate on one side, yet the level of success on the right side rivals and even supplants the other. How long will this continue? Will there ever be balance on both sides to where white artists are pushed to match the level of musical excellence as their black counterparts?

When Racism ends or someone in the music industry actually brings it up.

“ Compared their fields of expertise.. Frank and Taylor both have that ‘coming of age’ singer-songwriter thing going on ”

They’re considered to be the best in their respective spheres of influence..

Frank Ocean is not a pop star dude this a stretch. He does not exist in the same space of music making at all...

It’s not a stretch .. the constant variable is in their skillset..not the fact that they’re in the same genre.. in their genres Pop and Rnb they’re considered the premier singer-songwriter type musicians in their genre on a mainstream level.. the same as Beyonce and Usher being majority contemporary RnB being compared to pop bubblegum Britney and Justin correlation is live performance talents.. same with Jodeci n Backstreet Boys ..’boy bands’ ..the correlation was never about genre divides.

“ until you actually listen to the music” - and realize that the contention for the grouping isn’t based on similar music styles or genre types, but the musical attributes they received merit/acclaim in ..i.e-lyricism and singer-songwriting, poet-Laurent type s***.. in mainstream pop it’s ppl like Taylor/lorde in black music art and RnB it’s Franklin.

I get what you're trying to say, but you have to do it in simmilar genres

all of your other comparissons were legitimate, but Taylor's lyricism and Franks lyricism are celebrated for different reasons and in different ways

Yea f*** that.. looking at this first page lemme live.. but yea I was jus sitting here thinking .. I listen to all types of music.. I’m talkin Monica Narranjo from Spain and Soprano Assoluta Maria Callas lol
Cleaning with my digital vinyl ..goin thru modern music history and realize.. damn we been carrying them sheer musical excellence/quality for the better part of a half century and we still sun touching their commercial ceiling.. we gotta have the musical/artful gifts harvested from God
To be in the same room W/them when it comes down to stats and commercial leverage😭

‘but you have to do it in simmilar genres’ - no, I don’t..

You clearly understand and it’s valid.. and going by your parameters Jodeci and Blackstreet Boys and Whitney and Madonna and the like that you say were ‘legitimate’ don’t operate in ‘similar genres’ either along with Britney and Beyonce ..how hard is it not to get wrapped in semantics and just draw the accurate correlation I‘ve been explainin over and over

Except the fact is Franks music is never going to get him the type of success that Taylor's music can bring her. I don't see the comparison in any way.
Its a very basic concept imo.

When has success in music ever been related to talent anyway? Regardless of race, never.

i think streaming is changing a lot of things, there's a lot more opportunity for growth. that said, as long as i'm alive, black people will probably be disadvantaged in show business unfortunately

hip hop is huge today tho, and mostly has black people at the forefront from my perspective.

as far as your billboard stars and VMA/Grammy winners, that's up to the labels and they historically favor white people
