Honestly just learning that I don’t need to buy everything on impulse helped another major thing I had to learn was to just completely put my credit card away. I know it can be a useful tool for some, but for someone like me it encouraged negative spending habits. Those two things coupled with taking an interest in diversifying my money (stocks, crypto, high-yield savings, etc) have helped me improve tremendously. Most important thing is just going at your own pace like I said fam it’s not a competition it’s about you

Wonderful ty for the info great advice

    Eh

The mentality of "better to save" is cool and all, but sometimes you truly need to enjoy life otherwise what's the point of saving everything?

You could get smacked by a bus tomorrow

I don’t mean hoard money and be cheap. I mean instead of eating out constantly, cook your food at home. Instead of buying bunch of clothes or sneakers-just buy few nice quality pieces/shoes. No need to be materialistic and always chasing hype.
Have fun and spend money on stuff that brings you memories and experiences, just don’t spend on stuff that you don’t really need but could buy just because you have the money.

To me it’s better to have a nice nest than constantly spend my money on everything. Financial independence/security is important to me

I saved for three years, spreadsheets and all, and went from 25% of my annual wage saved, to 30%, to 54% last year

I think everyone should take one year of their life and just buy hella dumb s*** and anything they want to (once they have the savings built)

While I know many frugal people, sometimes the experience of splurging and being completely irresponsible is thrilling

That’s amazing man congrats on being able to save that much i agree though. I think you should always have your long term goals in the back of your head but like you said you could die tomorrow and all that money isn’t going to go with you to the other side. Gotta live your life and reward yourself for your hard work
