Yes that's why GKMC is number 27 on Billboard and DAMN. is outcharting albums like Scorpitrash with less songs and more time on the charts while he hasn't dropped anything in 5 years
Scorpions the most slept on drake album its so good.
It’s gonna be a rude awakening for this site when they realize the rest of the world left Kendrick in 2018
none of the new rappers are replacing kendrick at the moment so i doubt it
would commit suicide if k dot ever dropped a straight weed plate tho
I think theres the same amount of pressure as always. He has given himself a high standard of quality albums so its not about when he drops. That expectation will always be there
If anything, the standard for mainstream rap albums have further lowered since 2017, so he dont have to drop a TPAB-style album. Although it would be nice if he topped that
That's a good way to look at it tbh, the standard definitely is lower atm. I'd want him to stay away from another TPAB kind of album but you never know with him, he could still top it in a different style for sure. I can see him taking another commercial route with this one, we gotta wait to hear what the first single sounds like. Hope it's a banger
All I know is it better be a surprise drop and it has to be an 8 or better overall

DAMN. is outcharting Scorpion?
Did not expect that. Drake said his music ages well so I assumed that all his albums lived longer on the charts than Kendrick.

The pressure is on every album cycle after GKMC
Really gotta appreciate the artists who consistently deliver despite immense pressure
He doesn’t have to drop a classic and I sojourn expect him to drop one either
He only has one classic out of 4 albums. I’m just expecting something good that I can crank for a few months
Pressure makes diamonds and Kenny will come with a classic
New flows coming, be patient brother 🤠
DAMN is his “worst album” and would easily be any other artist’s magnum opus, don’t worry about what Kenny doing
The longer he waits
The bigger the hype
If he pulls a Cyberpunk 2077
It's GG for him

Probably won’t be a surprise drop after seeing what happened with The Weeknd, but I would place my bets on it being an 8 or better. One thing people can’t take away from Kendrick is how good his discography is and how consistent he is.

I feel you and was thinking that at first but I feel like It would kind of a gamble to create anticipation for the drop because how hard is it to deliver on that after a 5 year absence? Maybe a surprise drop would catch people off guard a bit and they receive it better? Just speculating I dunno
The people have higher expectations for Kendrick because he hasn’t dropped mid every year like some other rappers. We’re expecting a 10/10 album like TPAB but I’d still be happy if it was on the level of DAMN. Either way that would be his fourth classic.
Damn was a solid 9 tbh, another classic for me
Pretty strong amount honestly. But he doesn’t have to deliver a classic. It just has to be great. And he can definitely do it.

He’s on a streak of classic albums so yah I’m expecting to be on par or better than DAMN
Zero pressure after DAMN
