Kendrick doesn’t have a classic?
Obvious bait.
You can say he has a classic if you want but the truth is both artists don't have a project that is better than Kush & Orange juice 🤷🏾♂️
Both Kush & OJ and Taylor Allderdice are classics brotha
Facts. Kendrick and Cole are the most overrated rappers in the world. They let a weed rapper outrap them but theyre so-called lyricists

Outside of rap forums, nobody is saying that Kush & OJ is a classic. I would say it’s more of a cult classic. GKMC and TPAB are already an automatic fixture on ALL greatest rap album ever lists. It’s not a debate with those albums.
Personal preference is different though.

Kendrick got classics too bro. But J Cole tries too hard to ever make a classic album

Tpab Is not a cassic
Born Sinner is 10 x better than FHD
when i say this, i truly believe this:
Born Sinner is lo and by far, the worst album i've ever listened to in full
On what criteria???
It didn't have a lasting impact, no longevity, people don't go back to it and it didn't inspire or changed the dynamics of the genre.

Oh man. Scathing take! Never heard Born Sinner because everyone says it’s trash
anyone trying to say TPAB & DAMN aren't classics are delusional
just because you may not personally like an album, doesn't take away its classic status

Hmmm. Well argued. I would say it had a lasting impact and will always be talked about and mentioned in music/hip hop circles. The impact of TPAB was huge.
It hasn’t influenced much (as far as I can tell), but I don’t see that as a criterion for classics. Some do and that’s fine. Lasting impact and consensus of quality are essential criteria for me.

I wouldn't say that, but it is very boring and doesn't really go anywhere. It has no true cohesive theme.
OP might have a point my g.
Kush and OJ >>>>>> GKMC
both classics tho.
edit: nvm
I wouldn't say that, but it is very boring and doesn't really go anywhere. It has no true cohesive theme.
Cole isn't for me. and i will admit, i am a Cole hater. at least i admit my bias people always think i'm trolling when i say that about Born Sinner, but i truly believe that
i'm sure there are worse albums out there, and there's albums i've listened to that sucked so much ass that i stopped and never made it all the way through. but of every album i've listened to front to back, Born Sinner is by FAR the worst. it sucks
FHD was nice, i'll give Cole that.

I can agree with this, I don't think Cole is meant to make serious music. His ambition gets the best of him on his own albums a lot of times, prolly why he stands out more on features. I almost feel like he needs a director sometimes.
Kush & OJ is not better than any of Kendrick's studio albums
It's better than all of Cole's studio albums though
Both Kush & OJ and Taylor Allderdice are classics brotha
How do they affect the culture and who plays them in 2020?
Born Sinner is 10 x better than FHD
Cmon man. Born Sinner has Villuminati on it that should immediately disqualify it
sure if you have neurological disease or sum
It doesn't have influence,It isn't an album that people daily go back to. It didn't span any hits or ignite any careers. Its also too difficult a listen despite its pristine work. It's like the equivalent of reading Jonathan Franzen's the corrections. It's some of the best writing and storytelling that you'll ever consume, but it isn't enjoyable at all and you don't want to go back to it.

good thing influence is not the defining quality of a classic
