good thing influence is not the defining quality of a classic
It doesn't have impact how did it shift the genre, I admire its creativity, but it was gone off the charts everywhere inside of three months and has never returned

For a reason

it's kinda not fair cause Kush & OJ has one of the greatest beats of the last decade as well my g.

TPAB and Born Sinner are some of the worst sounding albums I ever heard to be considered a classic. Outside of the songs "Alright" and "Runaway" I can't get myself to go back to either album. The beats are terrible, the lyrics aren't memorable, it's like ppl give them credit for attempting to create a concept album. Why can't these dudes make a song as great as "Dear Mama" or "Juicy"? It's mind boggling.
your loss
imagine bumping hood politics in the whip and then that weird illuminati s*** pops up in the middle of that s***.
Your aux cord privileges would be revoked instantly my g.
Hmmm. Well argued. I would say it had a lasting impact and will always be talked about and mentioned in music/hip hop circles. The impact of TPAB was huge.
It hasn’t influenced much (as far as I can tell), but I don’t see that as a criterion for classics. Some do and that’s fine. Lasting impact and consensus of quality are essential criteria for me.
Crazy how he replied to everything but this
Never listened to Kush & OJ tbh
Never listened to a Wiz project tbh
not really my g.
Nah bro, more people are going back to albums like Watch the throne and Take Care.

I'll be real...neither have I lol at least not all the way through. The projects from him I have listened to are the collab projects with Curren$y and that was mainly so I can listen to Curren$y

What makes you think it has a lasting impact? How many songs on that album can you play for your mother? Kendrick has zero quotables. Can you really play that song where Kendrick was rapping and crying at the same time around a sane person and expect them to think it sounds good? It's like y'all forget music is actually supposed to sound good. It doesn't matter how good the concept is or how deep the price are if it sounds terrible overall.

Why would I argue with that he says that it doesn't have impact and gives his own persinlal opinion about it having lasting impact with zero facts to support it. The album is too obtrusive to be a classic, a decent overall theme, but not the best execution. The production is flat and most of the songs are boring

I'd say that influence should matter in defining a classic. Tpab isn't even an enjoyable listen musically

I mean songs from the album were played at rallies accross the country during probably the biggest political movement that year.
It’s also one of the most decorated rap albums ever released lol.
