I honestly don’t see how you could come to that conclusion yourself without the seed being planted. If anything his first mixtape and even somewhat the first album we’re much more psychedelic than anything he’s released since. Calling a song LSD doesn’t make you a crazy psych hippy. I think rocky should’ve taken the roll of pop rap superstar. He would’ve been much more successful pumping out wild for the nights than he is now. Don’t get me wrong, I respect him wanting to experiment for it’s not as experimental as he thinks it is.

It has much more to do with the actual song structures and sonic atmosphere itself than attempting to sound “psychedelic” a la Astroworld . It’s very reminiscent and uses a lot of similar techniques to actual psychedelia. Songs like Changes, Purity, Kids Turned Out Fine, etc show this best.
