Phone companies purposely slow down earlier phone models so you have to buy new ones. Also battery life diminishes over time.

Go into your settings and see your battery usage

If you have heavy apps that run in backgrounds and refresh constantly (news apps, location apps such as food apps that tell when you're nearby for coupons, social media apps like Instagram, Snapchat or YouTube), or even have the screen turn on when you lift up/look at your phone, your battery usage will go down in the long run

Not to mention high screen brightness

And if you're charging your phone from 0-100 all the time, it'll be worse on your battery

Something like 20-80 or 30-100 is better

iPhone 7s still going strong. Some graphics don't load, can't really watch videos on Instagram, GPS services rarely work correctly, iMessage randomly fails sometimes, and I have to charge it 4 times a day but otherwise it's going strong.

Sounds like it's going very strong! Best of luck, do consider a backup of whatever's important.

Background apps will always be the killer

I make sure to close apps even on my 11 Pro and make sure apps that have no purpose refreshing don't refresh in the background

Only things that refresh for me are email + bank apps

Also if you watch Netflix 24/7 goodbye to your battery
