    some stuff you could try:

    • check application/battery usage, make sure you close them if you don't use them (going into the applications bank by hitting the button that's not the back or the home button, don't know how they call it)
    • do a battery clean: charge your phone 100%, drain your phone entirely until it shuts down, charge it 100% without using it, repeat 2x
    • do a factory reset by going into the advanced settings
    • try a custom ROM if you're techie enough, sometimes the official firmware is designed to lose phone's lifespan on purpose after some years (they call it programmed obsolence), I did that and I saw big improvements in battery usage (you can check at xda-developers forum)

if the internet is slow it can be from the cookies and cache (most likely), many users do not know that applications are loading phone memory with cache and other data and they do not clean automatically, you must go to the application settings and select delete cache or something like that, it depends on the firmware, I have MIUI so I believe it's a bit different from nomal Android

but if you don't want to check one by one just do a factory reset from advanced settings and check after that

just keep in mind this deletes some auto-complete data along with passwords and history
