If prolly be livid at first but then simmer down and end up being grateful in the long run
my gf is kazakh and currently living there - so i have no contact with her anymore since 12hrs now
the days leading up the blackout i taught her how to use a vpn because they were slowly starting to block wifi and social media services, this solution worked for a while
now it seems everything is totally offline
Sudan didnt have internet for like 2 months or something lmao
wtf
the state of emergency has been declared for two weeks and the former president Nazarbayev has since resigned, so I'm hoping it doesn't last longer than that
do you know much about the protest like the group organizing them or anything all i can find out is theyre demanding to revert to the 1993consistuation to become a liberal democracy and that the protest sprung overnight due to the the doubling of oil prices
Yes so far all I'm certain of is that people started rallying together in retaliation to the doubling of oil prices - I personally think there may be more to this than what media is reported - even police and military officials are standing down to side with the public

It looks like a beautiful country. I would love to visit.

I would be devastated, but tbh the internet has been a net negative on humanity, especially mentally

nothing... it seems they got some connectivity a few hours ago but she was probably asleep or her phone was dead
locals in almaty, where the riots are the worst, are running out of food and resources because it is too dangerous to leave their homes :(
Sheesh
there are videos going around of bodies piling up in the morgues - but due to the blackout and lack of media coming out of Kazakhstan most people are unaware of how bad things really are right now

F*** man. Really hoping all is well with her. Do you know if she’s in a relatively safe area? Not really sure the scope of what’s going in Kazakhstan.
