Now niggas calling him overrated
bino cant win with some of these fools.
He is kind of overrated now and I'm his biggest fan
Album is currently the highest rated album of 2020 on Metacritic.
Probably gonna drop soon when Pitchfork/Fantano are "underwhelmed" by it.
But still great to see him reach such heights
Fantano gave it a 4

They don't count Fantano as a user review...?
Does anyone actually like the album starting with the sides switched from the original stream?

Same. Not getting the complaints with pacing this album is getting. It's a fluid listen for me

I feel like people saw the track length and had their mind made up before they listened
This nigga Gambino steady manages to be put on a pedestal for bad to mediocre music.
But he might actually deliver this time. Album is hitting so far. We’ll see if he can keep it up throughout the whole album.
He didn’t. Album is solid though the best I heard from him.
Nothing special.

Attention spans way too short in the digital age

Wild how niggas really think 6-8 minutes is long lmfaooo
Did Fantano say the mixes on these songs are demo quality?????????
Wonder what he listens with...........
choose two
Fantano tries to play up Bino at the beginning of his review to make it seem like he's dug all his previous work by saying BTI and AML are two of the "easiest celebrated albums of the 2010's" but he gave BTI a 5.

I like Fantano as a meme/entertainer, but if I have one issue with the guy it's the way he compares albums to his expectations and previous work of the artist. He recently defended it saying that music in a discography should be somewhat compared to previous albums, which I agree, but if that's a basis for why you mark something negatively, you're doing it wrong. He ranked AML so highly for actively not doing what Gambino had been doing before because he didn't like BTI.
Other reviews like Gorillaz, Thom Yorke, The Weeknd, etc. are all reliant on what came before. He also can't remember his own opinions too. In his ANIMA review, he claims that it's a massive improvement over the "bland" AMOK (two Thom Yorke albums), but in his AMOK review, he gives it the same score as ANIMA and says he enjoys a good chunk of it.
It gets frustrating when you just wanna hear his opinions on the music and he can't stop referring to previous projects either to explain his disappointment or explain his surprise.
An album with a date as a title and numbers as a tracklist is obviously not wanting you to have preconceived notions of what it is going into it.
Also just because I'm ranting, Fantano gave Yeezus a 5/10 and said it was unpolished and a mess, but they guy brings up Yeezus in every single hip hop album review because Yeezus is influential whether he wants to admit it or not lol
I been watching Fantano for years, and i gotta say
Fantano’s favorite albums are all wild, creative, forward thinking albums, that blend experimentalism with accessible, poppy, free flowing songs that have wild song structure, long track lengths, and a cohesive sound/theme
This album literally checks off every box for his tastes yet he killed this album
