i can believe it because in one week 3 ppl i went to school with died from fentanyl.

it was definitely the worst music loss i have personally experienced. i loved waiting for new mac projects.

I listened to Faces for the first time since his death a couple months ago. It’s a tape I loved so much for so long and that I know the words to almost every song on.

It hurt really bad but it also felt good to hear him again. So many lines were so prophetic and haunting, he was truly a beautiful mind and soul. RIP to the man 😔

Mac seemed like such a chill dude. I know we goin thru a d*** epidemic and mac is from where u would expect to be hit hard and then he moved to a place where it’s no longer an epidemic. Just part of the lifestyle.

I’m not against d*** use. If anything, I would have a problem with the demands this society puts on us and how it’s ran before I get mad at someone for self medicating.

Despite all the signs, mac had a smile that made u think he was well balanced.

I wasn’t the biggest fan of his direction tho I thought he had talent. Thought he tried to rush out of rap too soon and surrounded himself with the wrong ppl.

I wish mac surrounded himself with ysl type niggas instead of tde. His ability to rap well combined with his desire to sing would have worked more functionally in that camp.

Instead he went the route of critic bait music. I don’t think that was good for his habits. LA too fake. Bunch of ppl pretending they not addicts with the same problems those in middle America face.

Atlanta at least honest about it’s heroin addiction. I think it’s more therapeutic. Mac miller had the talent to be a new age and even bigger Paul wall.

Doing heroin in new york is unique. Doing it in LA is pretending your addiction is more functional than it is. Iykyk.

Juice hit me really hard. Thought the black and white video was the corniest thing I ever saw. That’s my favorite juice song tho. It doesn’t feel real because I thought he was a label made uzi/xxx clone when I first saw him. Then I realize he’s his own nigga and more talented than most.

He didn’t make me miss x any less, and as time went by it seemed like less and less of a bad thing. Then he died just the way he said he would. Doesn’t feel real.

The fact he was remaining true to himself was huge too.

Soundcloud loosie output slowed tf down after he signed whatever deal

And me and @HELLBOY were having a convo maybe a month before he passed that went like “i wonder if he’ll sell out to be the pop star we know he could be.”

Then less than a week later he tweets this,

Idc what anybody saying if he was alive music's shape would be different today if he stick to music. And if he focused on fashion or something I believe he'd still be huge but f*** all that man already did enough to be a legend anyways. His music is s till the most sincere, natural and dope s*** ever. Aint nobody touching him on his style.

Btw I cant see the tweet pic

Growing up and listening to hip hop in 2000’s era, I don’t remember that many deaths of popular rappers. The 2010’s had tremendous amount of rappers past away. That always felt strange to me.
