Yeah but this being a hip hop forum you’d think there’d be more discussion about one of the biggest hip hop artists out rn

Them new gen SoundCloud artists like SSGKobe and them get more talk here and they are much smaller and appeal mainly to the younger demographic which you’re describing as well

The reason is YB audience is niggas that hang outside, might got a few friends trapping, might trap yourself, hood niggas…etc.

The demographic here is mostly sheltered people, rejects, depressed hipsters, etc. Not really his audience

Yes but KTT is dusty and out of touch these days so they don’t get it

Like it is absolutely wild that there are only 10 pages for the #2 album on Apple Music

    Not true.

I like yb but ktt doesn’t rate him like that cause the forum is pro-cancel now and everyone know Yb was caught assaulting his thottie on camera awhile back.

This is why they don’t post on him that much

This. I know YB does crazy numbers but people here in Europe aren’t playing him like they did Weezy

I remember all the big rappers copied his flows, i mean f***, Keizer was our most popular rapper for a while and he got his whole swag from Wayne lol

Keizer and Priester were crazy Wayne biters
And Priesters lil brother too. And even Kempi at some point

I mean i’m no fortune teller but i don’t see him having an active influence overseas like Wayne did. Partly because i feel like NBA sound is more tied to where he from than Wayne sound was.. but also just because NBA music and personality is not even close to Weezy in his prime

Wayne music was like that at first too, he had to make music with New York rappers for everyone to fully accept him, YB has time his fanbase grows daily he’s only 21 Wayne didn’t hit his prime til around 25

If I remember correctly, the old heads from back then looked at Wayne the same way especially Internet dudes

I’m not here to cape for NBA but the amount of grip he has on street listeners and kids is very reminiscent of a young Lil Wayne

Yup. Wayne -> Thug -> YB the natural evolution. Birdman just said it in his interview

    wayne for millennials

thug for people on the cusp

    youngboy for zoomers

i mean it's just piano instrumentals with autotune whining

YB is quite talented and the amount of hunger is insane on this album. Problem is just like early Wayne (pre-C1 days) the music feels little one dimensional and the sound is getting dragged out, imo he needs to expand his sound style.

With his next release I want him to work with different producers and also experiment with his rapping
