Also I don’t understand how you can be a one issue voter no m4a in the platform and you’d rather say f*** it, Trumps no healthcare plan is better, even if the rest of the platform is similar to your beliefs but you do you bro

if youre talking about me can you tell me what in the rest of the platform is similar to my beliefs?

yes, but youre implying that there are progressives worth voting for down ballot in every state lol, there isn't. My point isn't that one person, OP, lives in this specific spot, it's that the down ballot argument isn't a strong one because it doesn't apply country-wide. there actually has to be progressives to vote for in order for it to be an argument.

    This is really peak privilege

I know what y'all are saying... Dems still have plenty of s*** they deserve to be called out on and aren't better than Republicans in regard to.

However we have a Supreme Court justice who just might be leaving in the next 4 years, and it is already a conservative majority. If we get ANOTHER, this country is legit setback for possibly decades. Setback on abortion, work rights, human rights, prison reform, etc.

Also another 4 years of Trump is just dangerous. This is a far-right candidate, not even a moderate right.

At this point I'd understand voting now, and not voting in 4 years once Trump is no longer a threat, but I just don't get ignoring this year altogether too.

Implying that the media and internet won’t demonize the next republican candidate the exact same way that they did to trump

And then in 2024 the same people will be repeating the same old “vote for democrat candidate because we can’t risk having that literal nazi republican candidate as our president” talking points

instead of not voting please vote third party. maybe it's a little naive but I really believe votes to third party candidates can help raise the legitimacy of third party candidates in the future and slowly work toward eradicating a two party system.

If the next Republican candidate wants to build a physical wall on the Southern border than I guess we're back to "vote for the democrat candidate because we can't risk having that literal nazi republican candidate as our president" talking points.

Hopefully, you can make us a third party by then! Ciao 😄!

honestly we're already seeing mass voter suppression in the democratic primaries and republicans ramp up their efforts all the time, i can't imagine the magnitude it would get to if there was ever a viable third party candidate that sought to upset the status quo beginning to get legit traction.

Whole system is f***ed up, we really need the separation of candidates and corporations. Yall too brainwashed to riot again for something that could actually have a tangible effect on our lives though. As long as that sweet “OMG yes the bad orange man isn’t in office anymore” tranquilizer keeps the blindfold over your eyes for yet another 4 years

Trump is awful and everything, we all know that already, but there are bigger problems that need to be solved if we want to see some real change. Like the fact that the only reason he became president in the first place is because his opponent was just that bad. Ran solely on the platform of “well at least I’m not trump”, which is the exact same strategy they’re doing once again with Biden, except this time they don’t have the female vote guaranteed like they did in 2016

Is it too much to ask for some more politicians like Bernie and AOC who actually have the people’s interests in mind?

it definitely interesting because part of me agrees and then part of me thinks that it will be harder to suppress candidates without the DNC and RNC involved... Like I really wonder how things would have looked if Bernie just ran as an independent from the jump
