All of his albums are “conscious” lmfao. It’s not trying to be like any of his albums it’s trying to be Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, It’s called progression. The last thing this album makes me think is he tried to make it like anything or to cater to people, he made it for himself

That's my point. He tried to make an album for himself but he couldn't fully commit and ended up with a handful of commercial joints on the album, and he ended up with neither the sales of DAMN or the acclaim of TPAB.

And he didn’t “try” he DID commit, even the ‘commercial’ sounding songs have the same themes and topics of the albums and follow it. All of his major studio albums have had these type of songs to some degree. Art has become so commercialized and quantitative that people forget artists can make s*** for themselves
