    The story goes

Makonnen & his manager get their very first invite to Drake house to work on music.

Makonnen does not announce that he got his boyfriend with him. Thinks he’s a hot shot now so he doesn’t have to.

Drake’s already inside the studio working and s***. They pull on him. Makonnen boyfriend presents himself in speedos, leaving Drake baffled. He starts fanning out on Drake.

After that Makonnen’s entire presence was filled with inconveniences and f*** ups on his end. Like for example dissing Troy Ave, who was close to Drake’s good friend and personal trainer.

His manager detailed how he had dude working with everybody and in everybody good graces. None of these people showed love to Makonnen after the manager left. It’s entirely his fault he fumbled his shot.

He acted like a b**** and got what he deserved.

Defending him either means you’re uninformed or a b****

Y’all gotta remember it’s a record BUSINESS. Makonnen had a hit in him but seemed like an all around bad business choice. And he didn’t make any hits after that either

yikes. that’s the problem with the industry. artists shouldn’t have to be business people

you’re basically saying Makonnen got blackballed for being gay & dissing Troy Ave, then called him a b**** for it

RIP the era when he was about to be the biggest ever

This “era” only exists in your head

How was he going to be the “biggest ever” if he was a one-hit wonder?

  • Nov 28, 2020

He probably would've never had a hit as big as Tuesday or been a notable name without signing to OVO.

If he was a real talent leaving OVO wouldn't have stopped him.

Yall cry about him to spite OVO more than you support his music lol

It was his choice to be gay

  • TheLostBoy

Look at his react to Drake being on his song

He was so happy. Then he gets signed to OVO. Imagine how excited he would’ve been, but little did he know signing to that record label would f*** up his whole career.

Drake does nothing for him once he’s signed. No more feats or even in house help. Drake threatened him and sent “OVO goons” on to him because he was gay

Not the first time Drake has ruined someone’s career.

ILOVEMAKONNEN was dope. Sucks what happened to his career.

That’s nt a problem its a good thing. The business is cutthroat at every corner. You need proper conduct with all these sharks around.

In a regular work situation he probably would’ve been fired also. Lets recap

makonnen made a terrible first impression on his boss. It’s no big deal to bring along people to a session if you announce it. Sessions aren’t just regular work, though, which would be bad enough. It’s sensitive and personal work; if there’s a presence f***ing up the vibe you want to avoid it at all costs.

So.. Dude brought his man in with no warning. Didn’t vet him on etiquette. And had him pull up in f***in speedos, fanning out. That’s unprofessional, inconsiderate of the invite. As an acquaintance or businessman. Either one. It’s a sour and bad taste to be left with.

then he continued to undermine himself by doing all that other weirdo s***. He just became a presence Drake for good reason didn’t want to associate with anymore. Had a hit, didn’t make more of them, caused tension, was ‘t a match as a person, either. Out you go

    If that’s not reasonable i need whatever the f*** you’re smoking G.

art being intertwined with business is inherently bad

from an art perspective, what positive effect does dealing with sharks with proper conduct have on the art itself? none. it’s just some BS.

    It is BS

The problem stems from art being intertwined with money and recognition in the first place

You’re bound to find yourself in this type of predicament. Thats why i feel having a code to resort to is good.
