I’m not saying America is a utopian society but we do truly live in a place with free speech and some random stuff like the government mandating birth rates and how China has ownership over the money in the banks there’s a lot of shady s*** about China that makes me not really want to live in a place like that
Maybe you should actually try talking to people who live in China or have lived in China.
Gotta buddy who was teaching in China for five years. Said it's literally just about the same as living in America. And just like America, if you aren't running around saying/doing stupid s*** that'll get you on a watchlist, you're fine.

China has ownership of the money in the banks ? The horror
Free speech and they were making lists of people who laughed about charlie Kirk so they lose their job
people are in slavery and coping with that fact. the goal for society should be to evolve to the point where we don't have to work.
I genuinely cannot understand how people expect any economy to generate wealth without people working.
I mean I wish I didn't have to work, but how tf is that realistic?
Alright, I'm gonna respond peacefully and kindly. Sorry if I came in hot on my last reply, I'm a bit cranky this morning because I've been studying a lot to become an nurse. But I'm gonna pick out some highlights from what you posted
It’s not hard to make a decent enough salary in this country
This is just categorically untrue. 50-80% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck, meaning one disaster can wipe them out at any time. Roughly 36 million Americans live at or below the poverty line as well.
Moreover, it is said that, from a national perspective, you would need to, on average, make $75,000 annually as a single person (gross income) in order to live a comfortable and secure life. That applies to 45-55 million Americans.
If we go at the highest estimate for people earning at least $75k/year (55 million), and factor out the poorest Americans (36 million), that still leaves roughly 250,000,000 Americans who are merely coasting by, while a small portion live comfortable and a smaller (but still large) portion live in abject misery. 286 million people who are ranging from homeless to saddled with student debt/chronically underemployed is a pressure cooker for some kind of economic change.
People of all income brackets can be living paycheck to paycheck.
Yes and it's a trash way to live regardless of income. Income doesn't determine your class position.
More often than not it’s irresponsibility and poor choices that lead to that
Again this is just categorically untrue. Student debt, cost of living, macroeconomic factors, wage stagnation, layoffs, etc, happen all the time/afflict millions of people. The vast majority of people who are struggling financially are caught up in a highly exploitative system that is beating the s*** out of them. The numbers consistently back this up. Very few people are truly making so much money yet are so irresponsible with it that they are living in squalor. Only 55 million Americans make enough money to live a comfortable lifestyle to begin with.
I don’t disagree with the idea that many Americans live paycheck to paycheck. All I’m saying is that for many of them, it didn’t necessarily have to be that way.
Having children too early, poor financial habits, investing time and money into degrees that won’t generate a good return, etc. There are plenty of people born into unfortunate situations, myself included, but the way the system is designed there are always opportunities to bounce back and correct course unless you continually pile on poor decision after poor decision.
Honestly the fact that you are studying nursing already tells me that you are smarter than most and you won’t be complaining about socialism vs capitalism in 3-5 years. My mom was on food stamps, single income, I didn’t have anyone teaching me the right way to go about things and I was pushed into an out of state college because my HS in the Bronx had a partnership with them. Still had no clue what I was doing. I just ended up googling degrees with strong job growth, security, livable wage, good work life balance. Nursing caught my eye as well. I went to CC for my prereqs. I saw travel nursing wages and decided I was going to do that. Along the way I learned about advanced degrees and decided I wanted to become a CRNA eventually. That’s where I am now and I’m set for life on single income anywhere in this country and I grew up on WIC and food stamps. Add my wife’s income on top of my mine and I would’ve never believed I would be in my position when I was in middle school.
Is the system perfect? No. But there’s no other system where you can lock in and change the entire outlook of your life in a few short years, granted you haven’t already royally f***ed up at some point.
Free speech and they were making lists of people who laughed about charlie Kirk so they lose their job
S*** just the other day I gotta temp ban/lock because I said "jump this nigga" and somebody reported my tweet for "hate speech/slurs".
Mind you, there were replies under the same tweet hurling anti-Haitian and anti-Black slurs and spewing Isalmophobia. Legit hard-r's and Jim Crow era slurs and those tweets were up for 18hrs before I tweeted
Free speech only exists for a certain kind of people it seems like in the US
Well most of america getting brainwashed to believe socialism is the devil.

no use of your 'free speech' in any context of living in america or affecting its general course because it answers to the same capitalist ideology

The banks are just nationalized and state directed it’s not really shady or a secret. State directed market operatives vs the private sector directing the market with heavy federal safety nets like in the us
Yall gotta stop conflating capitalism with greed. Greedy motherfuckers invented capitalism. Greed is the sickness, capitalism is the symptom. If you don’t attack greed they’re just gonna change economic systems and kept being greedy. Niggas was greedy in the barter system.
We live in a country where people think abbot elementary episodes and no kings protests move the needle on any sort of revolution or positive change towards the people

Capitalism is genuinely becoming insane

I don't know, I'm not an economist, it's almost certainly not possible. But the goal should be to get as close to that reality as we can.

The Soviet Union put a rocket into space within 40 years of the establishment of the socialist state, becoming the only other superpower on the entire planet besides the USA after WWII, despite incurring far and away the most casualties of that war, surviving multiple land invasions by imperial/capitalist powers, a civil war, and recovering from the first World War. It also developed out of the foundation of a semi-feudal agrarian society where national literacy rates were below 20%
You don't need capitalism to build national wealth. Objectively not necessary.
Most americans cant even read bro
yeah this is pretty much why sadly

That's just called class struggle and you still need to get rid of capitalism to get rid of the system that empowers greed. Socialist societies have of course experienced significant corruption within the ruling establishment, but the kind of wealth inequality and floor for living standards in socialist countries is categorically better and more sustainable than capitalist societies. At its worst, income inequality between party top brass and citizens peaked at 10:1. Income inequality between American CEOs and their workers averages to a ratio of 240:1, and the floor for living standards for workers is living out of cars and group homes. Everybody had a basic place to live in the USSR, at least until like 1990.
