do something nice for yourself this weekend to make up for it
i know it might feel like people dont care, but maybe you can start with loving yourself for now
i dont believe in birthday celebrations myself but if yo daddy and or mammy dont wish u a happy birthday theres somethin wrong im ngl
I was just leaning into what that poster was saying but I honestly don't place much value in being wished a happy birthday
It's one of those kneejerk social norms people just do because it's your birthday. Like when people greet you and ask "How are you?/How was your day?" do you think they actually gaf about your emotions or how your day was? Do you value the relationship you have with them more just because they asked? I'm not going to hold it against anyone because they didn't wish me a happy birthday, it's such an insignificant thing to draw any conclusions from imo

im not even thinking about all that its jus brah our parents mostly are all way more old fashioned and jus stuck with that tradition for so long that its jus gotta be engraved in em too deep so it does feel weird imagining a mother not saying a lil whats up on their childs birthday idk
absolute L post you should be ashamed
oh it gets worse
sorry @op it really sucks when nobody remembers or even says anything, especially your family or closest friends. don't listen to the cringe coming out the mouths of these other posters they're the truly bitter ones.

Idk why everyone gets extra harsh on here lmao, but op didn't help himself by trashing others in the replies

I feel you, that's true
Anyway, I'm sorry @op for turning this into a wider discussion about people valuing their birthdays
You just wanted to vent and I don't want to invalidate your feelings even though I don't really understand them
Last thing I want to say ITT - someone I know lost her mother in a car accident just 2 days before her birthday in October. Her birthday will never be the same again. For the rest of her life, she'll have to relive the pain of losing her mother every time she celebrates her birthday. I know people don't want to hear "things could be worse", but the truth is they really could
And a happy belated birthday to you
