I recently received and signed and offer this friday and pretty much got a start date for almost exactly 2 weeks from then starting on the following monday. The issue im having is I didnt want to put my 2 weeks in right away until I made sure everything in regards to paperwork was settled like background check etc. The issue now is with such a tight window I would need to put my 2 weeks in on monday for the full 2 weeks but now since its a holiday its gonna be slightly under. I dont know if that matters but im really not trying to delay making way more money just to appease my old job.
so they get a 13 day notice, f*** em
A 2 week notice is a notice of courtesy, not a “you are contractually required to be here for 2 weeks” lol. You could put in that 2 weeks and walk out tomorrow and they can’t do s*** or stop your next job. One of my homies wrote his 2 weeks on a piece of cardboard and left same day
Just tell your current employer when you start your new job and if they have an issue with that, f*** them and just walk out on the day you intend to
I just didnt want to burn any bridges but its just one day so it shouldnt be that big of deal.
It’s just a formality thing you can give a 1 day notice if you wanted to. 13 days is perfect

If they get mad for being slightly under 2 weeks then you don’t want that bridge lol plus you already got another job why would you want that bridge?

Ktt2 been getting some new job offers
You’ll be straight. If you have a good reputation and rapport with the bosses no bridges will be burned.
Last year I could only give a 5 day notice because the new job wanted me to start that following week.
My boss understood and told me I should take the job and told me I was always welcomed back.
That new job didn’t work out and later that year I got hired back at my original job.
My boy didn’t have as good as rapport with them and he couldn’t come back with his 3 day notice .

That’s good to know and I do have a pretty good rapport with them. What happened at your new job that had you going back to your old one?
F*** a 2 week notice. Just walk out that b****. Do they give people notice’s when they’re about to get rid of people
When you get laid off does your employer give you two weeks?
