    Okay Yeah

this feels like a very outlier case

I'd also say leaks are hard for the average person to reach. Like with OnlyFans, you gotta dig into s*** and be massively inconvenienced to get access to leaks. Most people end up just paying for it on the platform.

You think NFT’s are accessible to the average person?

    Okay Yeah

There's no immediate value to the NFT when you claim it. The artists I would target with this are literally like less than 10k listeners monthly on spotify right now.

The idea hinges on future use of it.

You know how people always pride themselves on being early listeners of someone?

I want to be an artist, help me figure this out bro

I've been cold emailing random artists on spotify trying to validate the idea. You're saying you're in the industry and see the value of this? that's really useful feedback

I actually have a great opportunity to build this out and get investment funding as well. Just need to validate the idea right now.

Word. To be fair though, I'm not super knowledgable on NFT's in general and I'm not too keen on them myself, but it's at least an interesting idea and I'd love to see your progress on it. It's simple but sometimes that's all you need.

    thank you, appreciate the feedback

I think one of the biggest blockers to web3 adoption is that people don't understand the immediate value of a product or service in layman terms. If the value of this is obvious without even needing to be deep in the ecosystem, I think that's a positive

    Okay Yeah

    Yes, I know, very unique

ANYWAY, I want to start a NFT platform that actually gives value to people and I wanted to validate my idea by asking y'all if you see value in this

Artist creates NFTs that fans can claim (free for both sides)

    • each NFT is numbered, representing when it was claimed (and hence capturing how early someone supported you)

    short-term

    • benefit for artist: fans will can evangelize their music, art or content more if they really believe in their talent
    • benefit for fans: a symbolic representation of their early support, can be used as a pass for communities, merchandise, tickets, etc.

    long-term

    • benefit for artist: they have an automatic tiered system for ticket sales, merchandise releases, vip access, or other perks if they want to give back to your earliest and biggest supporters. Maybe the artist gets a small percentage of NFT sales if they really need further incentive.
    • benefit to fans: they can get all the benefits above, or they can choose to sell the NFT and the associated benefits on the marketplace if they no longer keep up with you, so that another die hard fan can purchase it

I would love your raw, unfiltered reaction to this. If you have any other ideas of something that could provide more value, I would love to listen as well.

    Thank you

actually, I rlly like this idea

    someone get on this lol

minting nfts costs money though right? If you want artists to be able to make them for free, how would you offset the cost?

I'm not too worried about the money part

the creator of the NFT (artist) can make the minter (fan) cover the fee, we can reduce fees to be very tiny based on the blockchain we use, or we can just cover it totally with investment funding

I was on your side. People that knock NFTs don’t get that it has the same function as a collectible.

When people care about the collection then the value roses, and when they don’t then the value drops.

They just want to call nfts a scam because they aren’t gettting instant gratification from it.

They aren’t factoring in time needed for something to be valuable.

For instance, when bitcoin came out an no one knew or cared about it, then the value was terrible, but people bought in hoping that would change one day and it did.

Same reason you buy cheap baseball cards of rookies before they are good. If one of them like an Aaron judge end up breaking some crazy hr record, it dramatically ups the value of his rookie card.

Right now is the time to invest in nfts while they are cheap and not a big risk, cause one day the value could turn around, maybe.

    It’s a gamble.

The exact thing I pitched? Because from my own research, a lot of these projects are scammy and promise instant money to artists or a pyramid scheme to take advantage of their fans

Rather than any sort of utility like I laid out

ive gotten multiple like this. im not personally tryna explore the NFT scene at this point but i did do one back in march 2021. i honestly barely knew anything about it lol

that being said there are plenty of companies building out this infrastructure (sound.xyz, catalog, Dreams Never die, etc.) and so to enter the market i think u need to realize exactly what it is that all of them do and figure out if u offer anything different
