i basically leaked 500+ customer email address because i didnt know what tf i was doing

one of our sales reps told me to send an important email to all customers in a certain area so i copied and pasted a bunch of emails pasted in the To: field and pressed send
making every email address sent visible to each other

but our controller got it fixed somehow and i also recalled the email

but the boss was pretty upset last night said he was letting me go and a bunch of profanity
but when it got fixed he sent me an apology text for getting mad later that night lol

TLDR stupid mistake I still have my job

Apparently I’m not supposed to take orders from anyone that’s not executive staff before running it past them - found that out yesterday

So the email wasn’t even supposed to be sent out without verification

And yeah my boss emailed me to blind cc in the email thread like 20 minutes after I sent the email lmao
Sales rep had cc’d me, couple execs and my boss in the thread so he caught onto it late
