I got bit by a stray dog once. What the nurse told me was that unless the dog/animal looked sick and delusional then you should be fine.
Clean up the bite and you should be good.

this, probably gone be fine i just gona keep an eye on my health the next few days thx tho

Rabies is the closest thing we have to zombie infection. It's a slow and torturous death sentence. Luckily it's rapidly declined since the 50s but it's always better safe than sorry to be wary of wild animals especially if you see them acting really strange

No offense to nurses, but they often think they know more than they do. This is the wrong advice. Most of the time dog bites require antibiotics, regardless of how “sick” the dog looks. And that’s not even for rabies, that’s for other bacteria

For rabies, there are more things to consider when determining whether someone needs rabies prophylaxis.

There’s also considerations about tetanus prophylaxis

You're posting this like I'm supposed to be embarrassed. And please don't misrepresent my argument. It's not that I could just walk up and beat a squirrel. Its, in a life or death scenario, there is no way I would let a squirrel kill me.

For what it's worth it takes a while to develop, so if you get bit and you treat it immediately it's safe to say you're not infected. But once it develops, it's a wrap. I got bit by a dog in 2005 and luckily it didn't have it, but soon as it happened we went to the emergency room with the quickness
