I got Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4 with my Nintendo Gamecube around 2003 as a kid. I never really cared for any genre of music but then that game had Gang Starr, NWA, and Madlib music in iy and I had no idea this type of music existed for the first time.
Then I started enjoying MTV music videos then Outkast came out, and G-Unit.
and then I bought my first CD soon afterwards, The College Dropout.
And this is how I fell in with Hip-Hop.
Hilarious thread title, but I understand @op
I got into more rock because of the TH Games, so salute to you fam.
This is why y’all not qualified to debate with me
I like hip-hop because my black mother drove me around in the car listening to it since the day I was born
i got into hip hop in like 96 or 97 when my mom was playing killing me softly off her cassette player in her room while she was getting ready for work
thrasher skate and destroy soundtrack was even better but gotta be old as s*** to remember that one
and then we’d ride around to biggie and she’d rap gimmie the loot word for word (minus the n word
)
and listening to funk master flex night on hot 97 driving home from my basketball games
those were the days
i got into hip hop in like 96 or 97 when my mom was playing killing me softly off her cassette player in her room while she was getting ready for work
