I loved it, I think it did everything right that CLB missed the mark with and im super happy about it

I made this thread cause you cant have a real discussion in the actual main thread its people saying “2 songs in and its trash” “i skipped around and its trash” i just cant do it, no album this year has made me feel this way and I just want to enjoy it with people who also enjoyed it, we can do the serious dissections a couple months from now

I remember saying on another post a week ago that, he will probably correct the mistakes he made on CLB. so I agree with this sentiment

It really did, it kept my attention, good use of features, s*** its 7 am but almost every song had me wanting to dance or they got me emotional, literally only song im like “eh” about is gently but tbh in a club setting id probally go off

As much as im not a fan of his singular work, he really did impress me so much on this album, if he hones in on it he could really be a frank ocean replacement and thats a tough shoe to fit and it might be 2-3 albums from now but I can see him doing it, him or steve lacy

Also one other thing is my only complaint that I know will be fixed and god damn great divine called it, the mixing is pretty rough

This is the album i always wanted from him. I will get roasted for this but i never really cared about the bars and prefered his melodic and high energy songs, and this s*** exactly what i needed.

Yup, he brought the energy on every single record. great singing and rapping every single time. I guess it was Sexxy Red chorus on Rich Baby Daddy that had me like eh, but it comes together the more I listened. And of course it will probably do good in the clubs too

I actually enjoyed the album even the features that I expected to hate came through. If he really is going on a break I’m not mad at being left with this for a while.

Him holding his promise about him giving people that old Drake and putting familiar melodies on there was so refreshing!

Just when I thought he fully abandoned his old melody types and embarked on more grand and refined melodies he went back into his old bag.

I also loved him using the album title throughout in skits or the barking it felt like more life it just brought me right back

Yeah it’s really good. He’s really singing and really rapping, sounds loose and inspired

It feels like one of his most loose just having fun but ambitious albums in recent times

For me it's his worst album ever

I loved Honestly Nevermind and I knew he was sad he missed the mark with the American crowd so he got back to making that type music

The arrangements are monotonous. The subject matter hasn't evolved in any meaningful way the past few album cycles, so it loses the intrigue or feeling of something new whether that be with respect to Drake's own life or with respect to any perspective or commentary he might add to how things are.

The R&B cuts are notably stronger.

Most of the best changes barely last long enough to digest and they have erred towards the side of being the more interesting piece of production on the given track.

Yes! The short songs in the beginning feel unfinished and unlike Drake. I definitely don’t hate it, but it’s my far my least favorite. That could very well change in 2 days tho because I love Drake 😂😂

Respectfully none of the r&b records sound recycled to me. sure, it may revisit the same themes, but the delivery and melodies arent the same.
