I thought about this when looking at suburbs the other day...

You've got a big neighborhood where every house and property looks nearly identical, and people love it. No personality, nothing unique, just a nice neighborhood with simple architectural creations...

I know most people don't live in the burbs, but it got me thinking about how what if Apple gets into the smart home market... Like 50 years from now, Apple will have house kits you can buy off their website like people used to do with Sears 80+ years ago.

They're gonna have us all living in homes designed by them... And they will all be the same cookie cutter thing like every product they've ever made. This will eventually lead to them essentially taking over the world and becoming more than just a company that sells things...

Then, let's look at Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple. Dude was a known piece of s***. Was very pretentious and almost sociopathic, not to mention a dead beat dad who never claimed his daughter until he was gonna die.

His whole philosophy with Apple was doing things HIS way. There are no options. There's only one way to do it efficiently, and that's how it will be done. That's why you see Apple leading the game on controversial design decisions like no headphone jacks, taking disc drives out of their computers when no one else does, very rigid hardware requirements to use their operating systems, etc.

If it weren't for our superior minded western friends in Europe fighting for rights to repair, Apple would literally make iPhones irreparable. They are so obsessed with the image of their brand, they'd rather you either not have an iPhone, or have a brand new one, than have you defile their creation by opening it up and replacing the faulty parts... That's the Steve Jobs pretentiousness living vicariously through the product (and us, with all you Apple fanboys).

I could legit write a paper about this, but I'm just gonna keep it simple and say Apple is conditioning a whole generation of people to settle for the same thing over and over without realizing it. You got people with clapped out IPhone 7s talking about how Apple products are superior and they make the best stuff n it's like, bro you don't even know how many cores your old ass phone has, chill out.

Tl;Dr: Steve Jobs is a genius living vicariously thru Apple fan boys. He even makes Apple users as smug as he was when he was alive... One day, Apple will be more than a phone/mobile tech company... They'll have us living like 1984.

I disagree. Apple isn’t gonna be the only company making smart home appliances bro. There’s always gonna be choice.

But people are always gonna see Apple as the gold standard and strive for that.

That's why Androids are wack now. They used to strive to make new features and make the software open and easily moddable. Now, everyone wants to be like Apple and everything about phones has become a simplified formula, regardless of the vendor... There's hardly any innovation.

Yeah, I know there's real physical issues that may spell the downfall of humanity before Apple can ever get anywhere near this big, but I legit feel like this is what Apple is doing. They're setting up a strong foundation for something they want to keep going for many decades, should we last that long.

I think Google is doing the same thing with all their data farming and AI research.

They're setting themselves up for something big, and once technology has evolved to a certain point, it'll be like the stars aligned and everything will fall into place.

There’s a s*** ton of phone manufacturers that are innovating. You should stop thinking Samsung and apple are the only options.

Didn’t know that about androids because I don’t use them.

Still tho I really don’t see the stuff you wrote about in OP as some grave issue.

Like structurally houses in the same neighborhood are basically the same s*** it’s not a suburbs exclusive thing.

Don’t get me wrong a lot of these tech companies have bad agendas for sure but the s*** in op is kind of a non issue for me tbh

I will never forgive Android for retiring the IR blasters from their phones.

Those audiophile phones are pretty nice, but they're expensive as f***.

Xaomi phones are poorly translated Chinese spyware devices...

Then again, I have a Chinese phone too...

Designed by Apple and you will like it.

Imagine, smart home where you can tell Siri to turn the stove on and prepare a meal while you're on your way from work. And since you have an Apple Car S2, your home can track how far you are and have the food nice and ready just in time for you to arrive and sit down to eat. Your house will have built in cameras that you can control remotely from your phone (but only of you are logged into the same iCloud)

    Future sounds lit actually

I'm mostly just writing a conspiracy based on my observations... But I wouldn't be surprised if this was their end goal.

It'll be a long time. I don't think they expect to do it any time soon, probably when we're old boomers or dead.

This is all assuming humanity doesn't destroy itself in the next 50 years.

No I'm just making a theory.

They've already started with the Apple car play and s***, and I think I remember them talking about smart cars years ago...

If anything, they'll get into making cars next. That's the next logical thing, especially as cars become electric. Them making smart homes is still probably a lifetime away... But if I were the CEO of Apple and had to make a 100 year plan, smart homes would definitely be somewhere in the middle of that.

They already have a stranglehold on the mobile device market. They're probably gonna keep building off that until smart cars take off and become a commodity, then they'll go buck wild with a new smart car designed by them and people from New York to Siberia will tear their urethras from c*******so hard.
