How is being talented at drawing weird

almost all people i met that are talented in areas with drawing, they dont do normal sports or are interested in that kind of stuff

I mean being able to take the training wheels off is a pretty normal milestone in the average kid and parents life no? Makes me sad some people didn’t get to have that experience

S*** that bike was freedom to me as a kid but we all different. My parents tried to get me into sports but I never f***ed with em, I fell in love with skateboarding at 9 tho and that pretty much consumed me and keeps me healthy and active

Sports not everybody, but I agree there’s a lot you can learn and plenty of skills you can develop through sports.

And even for all their flaws I think there is a value in contact sports when taught correctly. Knowing you have to suit every day and collide full tilt into mfs makes a lot of other things in life seem easier.

I used to play rugby and football in high school and college. I can’t remember the last time I felt overwhelmed. Putting yourself through challenges teaches you how to handle situations.

I’m iffy on this. Give kids too much freedom kind of teaches them they quit whatever and then they will lack dedication.

I’ll let them pick the sport but I won’t let them quit, unless they find a sport they like more. Like training them for life in the job market. Don’t just quit and not have something else lined up. You have to be doing something.

Other hobbies and such, stuff like playing Pokemon Cards at the local hobby shop, ect. Still socializes kids fine while giving them something to pour energy into (is also a money sink though, which sucks). That or something like boy scouts. Even something like learning to play an instrument.

Anything that requires dedication and 'the grind' in a sense is good IMO. I think sports is the best at it but it isn't the only way haha
