    Hi everyone,

I'm sure many of us have found ourselves spending way too much time on Instagram and TikTok, scrolling through endless feeds and getting sucked into the algorithm. It can be incredibly addictive, but it's also incredibly unhealthy. So, how do we break free from this cycle and take back control of our time and attention?

First, it's important to recognize that these platforms are designed to keep us hooked. They use algorithms and psychological tricks to show us content that we're likely to engage with, creating a never-ending cycle of likes, comments, and shares. This can be incredibly damaging to our mental health, as it reinforces the idea that our worth is based on how many likes we get, and it can also make us feel like we're missing out on something if we don't constantly check our feeds.

One way to break free from this cycle is to limit our time on these platforms. Set a specific time each day to check your feeds, and stick to it. This will help you avoid getting sucked into the endless scroll, and it will give you more time to focus on other things. You can also try using apps or settings that block or limit your access to these platforms, or that track your usage and help you reduce it.

Another way to break free is to diversify your social media diet. Follow accounts that post interesting, inspiring, or informative content, rather than just accounts that post the same type of content as everyone else. This will help you avoid getting stuck in the algorithm, and it will also make your feeds more interesting and diverse. You can also try using alternative social media platforms that are less addictive and more focused on quality content, rather than just likes and followers.

Finally, remember that it's okay to disconnect. It's okay to step away from your phone and your feeds, and just enjoy the world around you. There's more to life than likes and followers, and sometimes it's important to remind ourselves of that. So, don't be afraid to put down your phone, and don't be afraid to unplug from the algorithm. You might be surprised at how much better you feel.

I hope this helps, and I wish you all the best on your journey to break free from the social media addiction. Take care!

does anybody know if suspending your account for 30 days would reset the algorithm?

I was going through the same thing. Go to your sdtting and change sensitive content to less or none. Worked like a charm

Instagram keeps showing me either these "hood reels" or basketball memes even though I always click I'm not interested and the only posts I like are from Design and Music pages
