Just wondering. Because I have a friend who said Eternal Atake was wack when he first heard it, but continued to listen to it another 10-15 times and now says its fire lol. Do you guys repeat an album of an artist you enjoy until you like it? Have you ever caught yourself forcing yourself to like a mid album?
If it don’t hit on first listen, I’m giving it another spin a week later, and if it still doesn’t hit, then it doesn’t hit. I’ll probably try again down the road, but 2 full listens is where I stop.
Artists I enjoy don’t make bad albums tho.

Same.. I feel like any more than that is pushing it. Kind of like a brainwash effect where you just start liking the album because you listen to it a lot lol.
Depends on the artist. If it’s someone I barely give a s*** about it’ll be 1 listen but if I really enjoy them ima give it a few spins
Going from wack to fire is cap. He probably still thinks it’s wack and doesn’t want to seem like a contrarian around his friends.
honestly if i dont like anything on first listen like 4 songs in im not listening to it

Lmaoo we argue about this all the time
He swears it grew on him to be fire

Damn lmao you won’t even finish the album?
probably 2 listens in the first week of the release. but sometimes you can go back to an album you disliked a year from your first listen and it’ll click.

DAMN. That’s a horrible way to listen to music. 😂

hell nah
my standards compared to others is honestly not that high in general so if I dont like anything within the first 5 songs or so, its really no point in me ever going back to it

This happened with Die lit to me.. At first I was one of those people who were like “wtf is he even saying.” I listened to it a few months back again and it goes crazy lol.

it rarely happens, i usually like at least 4/5 songs and then Ill obv f*** with the album
last album i stopped n skipped completely was the last tate kobang album and i can confidently say its not a good joint imo
This reminds me of myke c town of DEHH.
He would make a comment like “if we reviewed this yesterday, I would’ve hated it but now I absolutely love it”
What? From hate to love.

depends how much a fan i am of the artist. if it's an artist i'm just discovering i'll probably only give one full album listen and if it doesn't i move on. i always try to go back to certain songs though if it's a new guy. if i'm a fan i'll give like 2 or 3 before
writing a project off. a lot of reception depends on mood though, so i don't know if sometimes an album is good but i'm just not in the space for it. like blonde dropping in the summer made me hate it, but i loved it the next year
if I dont f*** with the first song its over

You hated blonde because it dropped in the Summer? See this is where I get lost. I understand thinking something is mid or just ok and then loving it. But you hated blonde and then a year later you loved it? I don’t know how you can listen to blonde and think it’s bad. Even if you don’t love it, its just hard for me to listen to good music snd think it’s bad based on a season.
