I think common sense says Drake, then Kendrick, then Kanye in terms of sales. But I don’t think it’s set in stone.

Kanye did 200k with a 7 track album when the only headlines he was generating was his MAGA support. And this is shaping up to be the closest thing to a proper rollout for a full length solo since MBDTF. So I think 450k is the floor if the album is 20 tracks long, and I think the ceiling is 800k.

Drake did 750k with a 25 track album with a properly planned and perfectly executed rollout. I think 800k is probably the ceiling for him. DLDT’s underperformance compared to similar offerings in More Life and IYRTITL raises some doubt that he can do Views or Scorpion numbers with CLB. The rollout has been a mess (not his fault, COVID f***ed that up), with the only single being over a year old now. But it’s a Drake album. I think 550k is the floor, 900k is the ceiling.

Kendrick’s a wild card. He’s built up anticipation by being almost totally silent and his albums are always events, but his sales peak currently is 600k FW. I think his range could be as low as 300k, and as high as 800k.

I think they’re all within a closer distance now than it would appear based on previous numbers.

Official guess: Drake 700k, Kendrick 550k, Kanye 450k

Sales: Drake > Kendrick > Kanye
Quality: Kendrick > Drake > Kanye

    OK OK

Drake is obviously gonna have the most sales. I don’t think Kendrick challenges him unless he had a single like humble which was super mainstream a while before album launch.

Ye is not going close to them numbers wise but who cares. Kanye’s in music for the art at this point he’s richer then both of them combined y’all need to stop pocket watching celebs

Kanye being in music for the art

Only thing he cares about rn is relevancy and beating Drake bro

ah yes, the well known drake album titled orphan

I was confused about that earlier but it turns out it's a term used in these chart things for any non-album singles

it still seems weird to me if drake just drops CLB, i feel like it's going to sell pretty lower compared to the ceiling he's capable. He hasn't had a one dance or a god's plan level success for this and the rollout has been confusing at best and cryptic at worst. It's not like he's completely fallen off the face of the earth publicity-wise like Kendrick has either so it's not like there's some insane hype for "where's drake been, what's he been cooking up?". Obviously he's still the biggest artist in the world though so there's a balance to that.
Kendrick probably going to do insane numbers though imo just because of the hype around him and the fact he's only gotten more popular post-DAMN. I don't know if he can outsell Drake without a longer rollout but i think it'll be closer than not. Kanye gonna undersell because I think all of these DONDA events are working against him. A lot of people going to be burned out from all these events and feel like they already heard the album. Core fans and genre nerds gonna tune in no matter what but a lot of the general public is definitely not, unlike Drake or Kendrick, and they're really what carry artists above their sales ceiling otherwise
