you know you can get a real job where people pay you if your goal is to "just help people", right? like why not become an EMT, or an NGO worker? why do free labor for your local bloodsucking DNC politicians and charity opportunists?
i work with the tools i have a available, i don't know what to tell you. I don't really have the time or finances to go back to school. I just try to do my best. if that's not enough, than that's not enough and I'm sorry. But at least i'm trying
i dont think it invalidates anything.
Most people (not saying you i'm saying in general) throughout history didn't grow up wanting to be a potential martyr. Niggas had lives, goals, and dreams. Every fellow black man and woman and children we lost in the 60s in the struggle didn't wake up that morning thinking that was gonna be they last day.
https://twitter.com/GhaisGuevara/status/1812963761210183812So it makes sense, when you start to see society collapse and want to exhaust every potential alternative action before "grabbing the tooly" but sooner or later everybody (I'm including myself) has to take a deep look in the mirror and ask exactly how much more can a person take.
that's why 10/7 is so loaded to me, because to me I always think back to that question how much more can a person take before they just f***ing lose it and id takes over and all hell really breaks loose?
honestly, i think we agree on a lot of stuff. i'm not arguing with any of this.
I dont like these random avis that I literally have never ever seen before anywhere on this website now trying multiple people on their understanding of revolutionary act to bring it to some kind of point they have about voting
i think it's super weird that I'm literally just trying to have a conversation about material change under a f***ed up system and how there's opportunities for change that get lost through super polarizing statements. and i'm getting flamed for reasons i genuinely don't really understand
you know what thats fine, as long as it helps people then thats ok. call me whatever
I will call you a reformist and a charity worker. But it sure isn't helping people or furthering the goals of actually improving anything in the long-term. Maybe it'll make you feel better about yourself but that isn't worth much to anyone.
i'm not really trying anyone? i'm just asking why we cant vote sometimes, and not other times?
yeah bro just curious amirite

i don't really understand why you're so defensive when you and 2 other posters have spent a page calling me an idiot

theres no way to know for sure if youre genuine or not because these types of conversations 100% of the time attract bad faith actors. because of that you should treat scrutiny as part of the conversation. people literally dont know you and never saw you in here before. if you dont like that you can probably seek out local organizations for more in-depth understanding of this issue depending on what type of organization you might find. or google s*** like I do idk

there are not "opportunities for change", their are crises in the imperialist world system and you must be ready to confront them with an organized and militant working class.
I've said this before but reforms in the system do not conform to your desires or result from sheer effort, they are more akin to bribery by the ruling class and typically happen at moments of revolutionary upswing and economic crisis. you've put the cart before the horse, how do you even plan on advocating for people en masse without a mass organization? what is your leverage for achieving reforms within the system? even by your own standards you lack a real strategy, voting doesn't achieve reforms except through popular referendum so you'll have to ditch the politician strategy.
also i feel like you're way overgeneralizing "voting"
Not voting for the president is one thing
Not voting for your local comptroller is a different thing.
Explain to me why not voting in local zoning/elections is useful
you cannot seriously believe a local comptroller means anything lmao
you cannot seriously believe a local comptroller means anything lmao
not comptroller specifically, but like yeah i wish i voted for a different mayor
i don't really understand why you're so defensive when you and 2 other posters have spent a page calling me an idiot
where'd I call you an idiot, now you're just getting defensive for no reason and derailing

no u didn't say it ur right, you just implied it a lot lol

Milwaukee had 3 socialist mayors. how's Milwaukee doing?
you have to understand why people don't take these ideas seriously when speaking to the masses and how you haven't stumbled upon some secret soup that only you've thought of. people are just interested in different political tactics.

okay yes you're right, you need a an ideologically cogent base for any political action.
All i am saying and have been saying is that there is also material suffering that can be combatted in the interim through structures that already exist.
That is not an endorsement of those structures. It's not even advocating for reform in the longterm.
I am simply saying that helping people in front of you is a good thing

I'm not so arrogant to claim i've come upon anything no one's thought of. I feel like i've been saying i agree that revolution is the only actual fix for any of these issues for the last three pages.
All i'm saying is i don't discount interim measures to help people
This your king?

Very predictable from biden imo
Wonder if it'll amount to anything especially with the regional s*** ramping up
people not participating in America's phony pseudo-democracy for the wealthy is a political statement. its not laziness or apathy, its a wake up call to begin abandoning it for a better system of popular democracy. this can only be accomplished through political revolution.
you cooked.
unfortunately, the only way change would occur, would be an 'en-masse' uprising
Be careful for what you wish for because you just might get it!

It’s about not voting for the candidate that committed a f***ing genocide
