Earl's vault must be crazy too, bro probably has some of the best rap songs and verses of all time in the fridge but doesnt release them cause he is anti-mainstream and doesnt want rap blogs and critics hyping him up

Nah lol this is what people who make hip hop videos on YouTube think but it ain’t that deep. I’m sure he has some great stuff that I would love but nothing that he’s holding back because it’s just too good and would elevate his hype too much. He has some trap records that he never released but even those don’t sound that accessible or mind blowing. If he cared about critics hyping him up he wouldn’t have dropped SRS
pac or james blake tbh. i know james blake vaulted his collab album with metro for whatever reason
edit: definitely partynextdoor too

I think a lot of the time it’s because he can’t clear the samples. He often has unreleased music that sounds great until they get released the beat is completely different. Happened to OD and Hat Ttick.
I have a feeling thats why FOC is considered worse than SRS, since FOC is an indie album Earl was probably mixing a lot of his vocals with beats he didn’t even rap over because he couldn’t clear the samples himself
Chief Keef
So many snippets he dropped that I want so bad
ok true esp the early years

Listen to Chum, Sunday, IDLS or his Really Doe verse Earl definetley has the ability to make more raps like that but he chooses to make weird s*** like SRS or FOC.
Juice for obvious reasons
But outside of that Kanye (pre 2018), Frank, or Andre 3000
idk why you’d pick this his entire vault is otw to leaking anyways

That probably hurts his post 2015 style more, but I’m talking about his old vault. Earl easily could have had a much more mainstream career, listen to Chum or Sunday. Bro denied feats from many mainstream acts and big rappers. If he had another mentality we would definitely have Kendrick, Tyler, Frank, SZA, Solange, Zay, Push collabs for example. He chose to be underground and it’s perfectly understandable, not everyone wants to be a star
Thug, and Wayne is a close second
pink floyd’s vault

Chum was the start of the weird s*** lol same with IDLS idk what you’re talking about. Really Doe and Hive are the closest we’ve got to Earl sounding hungry after returning, I’m not saying he can’t do more accessible stuff I’m just saying I don’t think he’s sitting on a bunch of things like that and hoarding them away like that post was implying. Even the trap leaning stuff he’s previewed and released lives in a left field underground kind of space

Chum has 80 million streams on spotify bro, and IDLS has some of the best rapping of the decade. If he kept in that lane he could still be a big lyrical rapper. Production on IDLS was amazing.
Prince, d angelo, kate bush, miles davis, madlib and j dilla
Ill be feasting forever
