my dad grew up dirt poor but joining the army pushed him up multiple socio-economic levels at once. my life would be pretty damn hard if it wasn't for the military.

Honestly I'm sure the military does have great benefits for those who join and does provide a nice steady lifestyle once finished. But I don't know man...I just can't see myself enlisting in the military for this country.
