I've been rooting for tyler for a minute but at some point a spade is a spade.

This man had the audacity to put "All songs written and produced and arranged..." when very little musical writing and arranging has happened. This sentence is a lie, straight up.

There's no flips either, to frame this as sampling most likely hurts the legal case for sampling

    I THINK

He takes the main chord loop, the entire hook including the lyrics of one song and then puts the drums of the other. This is a mashup and not his production. No flips

    GONE GONE, THANK YOU

The first part is literally the same chords and melody as this first song. And the second part is a cover with some tape fx (im not recreating the
vst chain rn lol) and an arpeggiator on the most basic settings. There are some original drums but were still in mashup territory

    ARE WE STILL FRIENDS
He literally is just riffing vocally & lyrically over an al green instrumental. There's a little breakdown in the middle but if he posed this as anything other than a cover in any jazz setting he'd be laughed out

    PUPPET
Same story no flips just rapping on other ppls songs or a simplified version of them at the front of the song

Theres then a portion of the songs which get closer to original and can be argued as original

Igor's theme (the drums are straight ripped but that really doesn't mean much, I'll give him his 5 saturated synth notes they cool)
New magic wand ( the spoon loop is kind of a flip I guess but the music and the music is taken from a small portion of the og track, were in flip territory)

A BOY IS A GUN is an obvious flip but I kind of wish he wouldnt beat a dead horse

There's then 3 songs on the album which are largely original
    EARFQUAKE
I DON'T LOVE YOU ANYMORE (this is the most original music on the album)
    WHAT'S GOOD

The dude has admitted to lifting stevie s*** so it wouldnt surprise if he's taking more that he doesnt have to credit cause you can't shouldnt be able to trademark chords.

But yea this man is a fraud maybe a little less so than awaken my love but to put the front statement on the album is an insult to all working musicians. He's doing less work than a good portion of Atlanta producers that his ignorant fans like to look down on. You can't even argue these as simple flips like ye, he's looping the part of the song that's already a loop

Facts are that saying "chords" repeatedly in conversation with no context is about 2 steps removed from "gatar". This is the same guy who spent years talking about bagging "models in europe" like a kid with a "girlfriend in a different school", we probably shouldnt be surprised by his insecure ass. He has some talent but is just a biter tbh.

this took way to f***ing long damn
tell me if I missed anyhting there's probably a bunch more on the rest of his albums

that tatsuro yamashita ripoff is kinda crazy because that was one of the highlights for me on the album, damn

This makes the album better to me

It always felt like a fuzzy patchwork of sound I just didn’t know how much he incorporated at once

Tyler is one of those artists who wears his influences on his sleeves heavily but he's never been able to match or surpass the artists and songs he draws from. Despite that I still think his music has its own unique charm. Besides Call me which I wasnt really feeling for the most part

Flower Boy and Igor were impressive, Wolf and Cherry Bomb a little less so. The rest tho

technically speaking he was more original back then. even goblin n b******. He also actually used his voice more as opposed to the monotone s*** these days

Pretty sure a lot of Call Me If You Get Lost’s sample usage is pretty similar, he recreated other’s people’s beats and credited it as “produced by Tyler, The Creator”

The 2 cups of blood s*** would've gotten him murdered in the 90s lol. This man just buys his sauce
