Had I known that the music (industry) was so fabricated, and that almost everything is fake (nonmeritocratic) - not only would I have loved (and identified with) music much less, but it wouldn't feel (to me) any different than watching some WWE s***.
Just a part of being famous. Another thing that funny, is that even if you’re being as real as possible or honest sometimes, some people will just think it’s just a PR move.
Reality is formulated by some for others to perceive. Just recognise the existence of this influence and enjoy what you enjoy, but getting deeper into this just how much of what makes you you has been influenced by other people/events? Is anything that you like truly what you would like if somewhere down the line you weren't influenced in some way shape or form? How can you be real with us if you're not real yourself?
Just like what you like lol

Most of the time it is
?
You're a musician in the industry and you make real music. How's that different?

not the music, the marketing side

Ah
Well it's a business like anything else. If you're passionate, you will push your art so your intended audience can consume it. For every fake Popstar, there's 10 independent artists on Bandcamp making good music and using their respective platforms to promote it

Yeah; a lot of the albums/artists I loved was due to the story behind it
Jai Paul - randomly uploads demo (btstu) - gets HUGE coverage (while probably hiding that a lot of money was spent on PR firms, first) comes to mind
Nothing different than you spamming every single thread so people can check your music.
They just do it on a bigger scale
