If you're referring to hip hop - that's definitely not true. True for indie/alternative artists
Had I known that the music (industry) was so fabricated, and that almost everything is fake (nonmeritocratic) - not only would I have loved (and identified with) music much less, but it wouldn't feel (to me) any different than watching some WWE s***.
