Probably because there's been rampant xenophobia and general disdain towards illegal immigrants and migrants to the point where Latino citizens who have been born and raised in America have been accused of being immigrants/migrants and attacked for it. Doesn't seem like the best idea to announce that illegal immigrants and migrants are allowed to carry guns. I can very easily see a scenario where stupid racist/xenophobic Americans and police making a false judgement on a regular Latino, assume they're in possession of a weapon, and either arrest or kill them with no evidence of it

there is no way someone could tell the different between an undocumented person and a naturalized citizen except presuming those of Hispanic descent are automatically suspicious

yes, and now this judge has ruled that all aliens may possess weapons. And, since the person probably doesnt have a visa right now, then they may legally possess a firearm as further entrenched by the ATF statement

I’m not panicking and I’m not afraid. We have immigration laws, have gun laws. This guy broke both of them. And instead of enforcing the laws that we all have to play by they open the door to illegal immigrants being able to have an easier path to gun ownership than people that actually live here or immigrated here legally.
A 25 year old man with an illegal gun is doing some sort of mandatory minimum. But this guy gets off scott free.

there's clearly no law in illinois that explicitly prohibits undocumented citizens from possessing a firearm, and as a result, the plaintiff couldn't be convicted for what he was charged for
maybe he broke other laws but he wasn't charged for those

Like just last week in NYC it was some xenophobic a****** harassing and accusing a Latino couple of being migrants, started threatening and then attacked them, and didn't stop until he rightfully got stabbed, pulled a gun out, and then got shot in the head with his own gun like a f***in idiot.
Don't give these xenophobic gun crazed morons an opportunity to come up with more deranged justifications for their treatment towards immigrants/migrants.

youre mad at the wrong people, sorry to tell you. gun laws exist to keep "minorities" and "illegals" (as you put it) unarmed and prisons exist as a system of concentration camps for these same demographics. "citizenship" is a reactionary concept and rights should be equal across the board regardless of whether or not you're a "citizen".
