I wake up around 8/9 and instead of getting out of bed asap I scroll through my phone for like 20 min then I take my laptop and continue on to KTT, YouTube, Twitter whatever
And that's either till 9:30 on a day I have classes or 10:15 on free days
During the day I have moments where I just lay on my bad and mindlessly scroll twitter, IG, KTT
Before going to bed same thing
30 min of scrolling till I feel like I have enough and I go to sleep
WTF do I do?? I hate it
edit:
phone stats since making this thread
I'm writing this thread laying in my bed again after having breakfast it's 11:40AM...
I'm addicted to screens too, wanna go full unabomber and live in a cabin in the woods and renounce technology but I know I'm not gone do it.
The thought of waking up at 8:30 and being productive seems so dope but whenever I try to be productive with my own life it's so hard to get going ffs
im on the internet 90% of my day because ig im addicted but also the world is so boring and i dont rlly have real friends anymore to talk to so i talk to people on here and make internet friends
i honestly dont have a problem w it tho im chilling
Yeah I'm not too bad at it but I've already felt myself reaching for my phone when I'm bored or don't feel like socializing and just scrolling on s***. Been making an effort to cut down on my use so I feel less dependent on it
I started with deleting a bunch of apps. Also using the iPhone screen time features to block apps after a certain amount of time. Also gonna shut my phone off when I should be focusing on work s*** more. Tends to help
Really difficult to break these habits when these apps are literally designed to keep us addicted

Same man... Same
I feel like, whenever that'll be, when I'm in a stable relationship I just wanna take a full week off and close myself with my s/o turn off the phones and completely disconnect
also the past few days ive been mainly watching anime tho so i guess thats starting to be a problem too
Verse 1
Girl in the corner
Stirring her soda
Biting the s*** out of her straw
Ready to go out
Only her body tells her no
Pretty but sad inside
Isn't she beautiful?
Queen of the ball
Even when she's home alone
Pre-Chorus
And she said
I'm not here for love tonight
The way you touch just don't feel right
Used to feelin' things so cold
Minimizin' windows
Pictures lit by electric lights
Fiction, fact, boundaries collide
Find me in my palm so bright
Cyber Stockholm Syndrome
Chorus 1
Came here on my own
Party on my phone
Came here on my own
But I start to feel alone
Better late than never, so I'll be alright
Happiest whenever I'm with you online
Verse 2
Better together
Ever the overrated touch
I am connected
I am the girl you want to watch
Lips full of glitter glow
Spinnin' like mirror-balls
Phone in a strobe
Stuck in a crazy cyber-world
Pre-Chorus
And she said
I'm not here for love tonight
The way you touch just don't feel right
Used to feelin' things so cold
Cyber Stockholm Syndrome
Chorus 1
Came here on my own
Party on my phone
Came here on my own
But I start to feel alone
Better late than never, so I'll be alright
Happiest whenever I'm with you online
Chorus 2
In my 4 by 3
They can't get to me
Free to roam all over my cyber fantasy
Better late than never but I am alright
Happiest whenever I'm with you online
Interlude
Now you see her flying high speed
'Cross the distant galaxy
Candy cane your heart out
Burn bright, don't burn out
Outro
Came here on my own
Party on my phone
Came here on my own
But I start to feel alone
Better late than never, so I'll be alright

The internet is basically another world you can live in. I think alot of people are addicted that they don't even realise. You've already made the first step by seeing that it's a problem
as i said im addicted but im fine w it not rlly affecting me atm so im chilling i dont go outside much anymore anyway becuase of covid being pretty bad in my state.

Yeah I've been extra hyped when Digital Wellbeing was added to my phone but now almost every time I hit a limit I find a reason to just click "ignore limit today"
I've tried putting my phone in grayscale but again... I find reasons to turn it off like seeing a photo someone sent me on IG
Damn... IDK it's been bugging me for like two years now and I have no discipline to do anything about it

lol this is kinda corny but real tho
I think it's a problem only if you thinking its affecting your productivity or causing you to be very reclused.
read books with your phone bro. Screens arent the devil just do some productive things there too
Ok it's 11:52AM I'm getting out of bed and I'll come up with something starting tmrw
This cannot go like that forever

bro listen to me

What you said is true and that's what I'm gonna do
But reading on the phone isn't really a good idea bc you're gonna ruin your eyes
I was thinking about buying a kindle for a while now tho
And after I spend money on it I'll push myself to read instead of browsing idiotic instagram memes or twitter s***posting
Me too
Also S***and Weed
But the darkness inside is no longer getting sedated by my vices so everything feels f***ed now
Trying to stop but I have nothing in my life, just emptyness
What you said is true and that's what I'm gonna do

Reading on your phone being bad for your eyes is a myth by boomers lmao it's as bad as normal reading would be. If you're not gonna be reading on your phone you're not.gonna use the kindle. that's how it was for me.. I just downloaded google books now

nah dude that's not true
reading on a small screen for an hour with blue light shooting up your eyes is definitely not good for you
and I know what I'm talking bout bc I literally ruined my sight bc I was texting all night for months with this girl and I'd just sit for 4h reading texts. After that my sight started getting worse and now I have to wear glasses at lectures.
Also another thing is I really tried reading books on my tablet and it's super fun but I just know my eyes are getting tired after a while and I'm not 100% comfortable reading a book on a tablet before going to sleep as I am reading a normal book
But nevermind. It's not a thread about screens being or not being bad for your eyes.
Your points is a great one. Exchange instagram for a book and you're set.

Get a used Kindle from eBay like 40 bucks, an older one. Idk about iphone but on android you can download torrent apps like Flud. Search for your book on libgen and torrent it. If it's not a .mobi file then get a file conversion app. Convert that s***, then email it to your Kindle address. In a minute you'll have a whole book on the Kindle for free. I spent like 40 on my Kindle a year ago and have downloaded like 100 books for free since then. It's really the way to go.
Also if you got someone you trust, a girl, a homie, heck even a close internet friend, download BlockerX and block all kinds of s*** from your phone with them as your accountability partner. You can even give the app admin permissions so you can't uninstall it without permission from them. You can set strict timers on how long you can use an app too. Ppl usually use it to block p*** but you can block anything with it.
