Hey guys, was feeling moody today so I played Cudi after a long time. Realized I want to relisten to his discog and just wanted to talk about it. I’ve listened to all of these albums before, but with some of them it’s been years since I did a full listen.

A Kid Named Cudi

First notable Kid Cudi album/mixtape let me know if some of his sooner stuff is worth a listen. Feels very easygoing and simple with the lyrics. The complexity is mostly his versatility already off of the first album. This leading up to MOTM1 is so surprise. This album has some of his best early work and some duds. Mostly I’d say the first half is way better than the second except for the final song. Drops a little after “Whenever”.

The OutKast freestyles are pretty good he did a diff take on them and it’s a statement on how he wants to do creative type of hip hop. The best stuff on this album is the more emotional and melodic s***. I also appreciate how he incorporates electronic influences into his music, really lowkey and unique.
