That Big Boi ft Gucci Mane joint is fire
still play that song to this day, Gucci Mane killed it. The song sounds very upbeat. It really wouldnt fit someone like Gucci Mane, but he slid and glided on the track with ease. Plus the hook Gucci Mane did, classic song tbh.

I love this song. Wish it received a higher budget music video
Day 1: Drake - Thank Me Later
This album is mixed for a lot of fans, I've seen some consider it the worst Drake album possibly because they think he got so much better since or because they feel like the least of his vision and more of an attempt of the label to make him a big pop star in then's Young Money "bubblegum" era.
The beats are poppy, Drake's voice is all filtered and reverbed and the bars are corny as ever and hard at the same time, a good example for that is Jay-Z's verse.
I think this album holds a lot of charm and nostalgia. I don't see it as a soulless trendy album because it has a lot of real moments like The Resistance which is an early introspective Drake song, and it has a lot of Drake making songs with musical legends like Alicia Keys and The-Dream that inspired him and having good chemistry with them, adds to his credibility as an artist and having a "passing the torch" moment in a way
Drake's rapping and singing on here is not top tier I think his singing voice improved a bit later and that the rapping is just slow and has some silly lines like making the b****es say "toodles" and more about the vibe and personality he's showing with the subject matter and lyrics. And the singing / choruses themselves are really catchy.
Also Over and Find Your Love still go stupid and will always have a place in my heart (but I wonder how younger Drake fans feel).
Overall this is not a bad album, a lot of good moments... ppl call it a less creative So Far Gone but tbh this album is better than SFG and more nostalgic to me, this and TC is what I play when I try to remember THIS Drake. Not that the new Drake is worse or anything especially not after this year, but something really genuine and ahead of its time about this Drake, even though it's pretty mainstream safe music the reason it stands out is Drake himself, even while being radio friendly it feels like he had a lot to say.

Idr how I found this song, but I remember being confused cuz I couldn't find it anywhere but I eventually found the CDQ
Crazy cuz this song was like a loosie and I never really heard ppl talk about it, but years later (now) it seems like anyone who was a Drake fan then loved this song.
Gucci Mane - The Appeal
BoB
Recovery
Gangrene - Gutter Water
Those are some of the albums I was bumping in those days
Damn what a nostalgia trip.
Definitely gonna be bumping these on the way to my gathering today.
Day 8: M.I.A. - ΛΛ Λ Y Λ
If I was a hipster in the year 2010 I wouldn't shut up about this album. This has just about any sound and any idea clashing into each other, hip hop, electronic, grime, punk, industrial, experimental, just her doing WTF she wanted. This being pre-Death Grips, pre-Yeezus, pre-SOPHIE is mind blowing. It's ahead of its time.
It's not without its flaws I'm not gonna act like I liked every single song but every song at least has edge and creativity to it. My highlights: Steppin up, Xxxo, Teqkilla, Lovalot, Born Free and Believe (from the deluxe I think).
This is like 2010's idea of a futuristic album and it still works. I'm not even sure if I get it yet but the idea of an album full of experiments and short songs is way more popular today than back then. And even though the technological references are like, YouTube, iPhone, iPad and s***, it's cool! It's like a time capsule to the future if that makes sense...
The lyrics are little nonsense but they're fun. The whole point is the mess and everything happening at once. I think a lot of ppl didn't get it at the time which is why you don't hear about it as much. I hope some of you will give it a shot. If you wanna hear some of the weirdest music (that also slaps) this is it. This is only a first listen but I'll keep this album in mind for sure.
Now listening to MAYA
