The term "Reddit rap" refers to rappers who make music for Redditors. However this is the first album I've heard that has music ABOUT Redditors.
Rapper's Liebe is a concept album about Johnny, a love and breakup album in the vein of Lemonade or IGOR. In this narrative driven album, we learn about Johnny's lack of success with women, he falls in love, asks a girl out and then she breaks up with him for being "too nice". This leads up to the crash out climax of the album "OH MY GOD" this is where Johnny stops being nice.
For context, Masta Artisan, the rapper (and producer most likely) who made this album, is more widely known as Rap Critic, who used to be a YouTuber that criticizes a lot of modern rap songs, mostly over dumb lyrics.
You can tell that Artisan's lyrics take the forefront in this album. As they're very focused over the driven narrative of the album and the emotions and thoughts of the main character. However, he really hits you over the head with the same thing. The guy is an loser, a hopeless romantic who has no success from girls, self described "nice guy" who thinks he deserves more. He stays this for the entire album and finally commits suicide.
While the theme is interesting and made me want to take the album seriously, the musical aspect is so silly. The rapping is overly sophisticated and full of metaphors, basically about being a virgin. For some reason his flow is very 80's inspired and reminds me of LL Cool J and Big Daddy Kane (this album is from 2013). The beats are somewhat dusty and cheap.
The most different thing here is the hooks, this is where we get to hear Artisan's classical training. As it's all very classicial pop with a baritone voice. (And this mixed in a rap song sounds very funny).
If you could take away one album from my list, please have it be this one. It's definitely a listening experience.
Best: It's Alright It's Okay, Oh My God.
Worst: Never Been In Love, What You Do.

i just read comments under this s*** and almost pissed myself laughing
who used to be a YouTuber
he stopped doing RC? when?
Just checked I’m surprised he’s still active and drops a video every week. Thought he quit YouTube bc I haven’t seen a Rap Critic video in a while.
I remember listening to rappers liebe on discord in 2018 and initially we were all laughing our asses off but by the end people were legit pissed at this album being so bad, even oh my god didn’t help. But the most astonishing fact about this dude is that he was born in 92 but I straight up thought he was in his 40s by the time I listened to this album. I could not believe this
