So this is my first listen to this album after only listening to Betrayed at the time and believing the hate over this album (even though I liked the song). He's definitely a struggle rapper, and I wouldn't even say struggle bc he doesn't even try. Very basic and dumb rhymes about d****, sex, or just nothing. performed with a dry, monotone voice.

Still a pretty listenable album bc of the beats. They're hard and even a few good tunes in there near the end if you just listen in the background and don't mind the lyrics. I think if Lil Xan's personality wasn't so hated at the time and he had a following, the same music wouldn't be panned as hard. A lot of rappers in the underground scene rap exactly like this just over rage beats and get love. It's either rap is more style over substance nowadays or ppl were more mad about what this album represented. Plus doesn't help that he is a white boy "using" rap culture.

So this is listenable but not anything interesting when it comes to his performance, and it gets old after 10 minutes. But no awful sounding music here either and the last few tracks kinda go (basically all the "emo rap" sounding songs).

Best: Betrayed, Decieved.

Worst: Moonlight.
