Idk wtf to listen to. Don’t feel very motivated to check out some of the projects that I’ve heard about. The last project I really liked was Her Loss. I liked Yachty album from a creative perspective but it came and went for me, didn’t really connect with it on that deeper level.

I know part of the reason is because I make music for a living (engineer) so I hear new stuff that way all the time. The other part of it is I’m kinda set in my ways. I just don’t care about obscure weird music man. I like big well produced, expensive sounding, albums by technically skilled A-List rappers (The Hovs, Ye’s, Wayne’s, Drake’s, and Kendrick’s of the world)

That’s not the ONLY s*** I like but it is the main s*** that really gets me hype. Everything else is like side content versus the main story missions type vibe lol.

I know I’m making myself sound like I have s*** taste I promise I don’t lol I’ve heard so many different things (don’t feel like listing) and I like most of it but it’s just not connecting with me long term

nothing good really dropped since her loss. metro album was just okay tbh

new yves tumor album produced by the man who engineered on mbdtf and yeezus, very expensive sounding.

If you're only listening to AAA rap releases, you should prob just explore other genres. Even stuff that's related like the new Skrillex record.

I don't really care about keeping up on everything. Like I'm aware of the waves and I'll wait for something to pique my interest. Meanwhile I'm listening to Rio Da Yung OG mixtape from 2019 on repeat.

I used to really keep up with indie rock, dance, and electronic music heavy but I fell way off

Those big expensive experiences were an echo of Kanye’s influence post-MBDTF

We’re mostly back in the mixtape/20 track album habit that’s always been in HIPHOP outside of the 2010’s in terms of project structure

The only problem is 99% of rappers forgot how to rap. Wayne could drop 20 cover songs because we wanted to hear him RAP.

Dawg if you didn’t feel it that’s one thing but saying an album that came out not 3 months ago “came and went” makes it hard to take your post serious

Sometimes there will be dry periods in music as a consumer, just broaden your horizons

There are tons of rappers with amazing styles who can rap really well

The issue is quality control and the inability to acquire mainstream fanbases because there basically isn’t a mainstream anymore

The new underground actually got some gems if you can just listen to music for pure vibes and feeling over word sandwhiches
