You can’t compare the army to a gang because a gang is independent and the army is 100% dependent on government funding and direction. A gang kills someone because they want to. The Military kills someone because they were ordered to and can not refuse orders. Whether you think that is right on a moral level is up to you but you can not deny that there is a difference.

If youre 18 and don’t have any plans or future, they will put you to work and give you a path, at the very least. Countless people have made a comfortable life in the military.
