I'm only a casual Drake fan. But where I give him the overall nod over Cole and Kendrick is consistent presence: features, loosies, interviews, albums.
This Drake mixtape just highlights the difference. It's not an instant classic , but it's quality music (minus toosie slide) to hold the fans over.

May 1, 2020·1 replyIm not knocking artists who do this, but I much prefer one that takes time and doesnt oversaturate the game like a lot of these "work ethic" "lil wayne influenced" rappers do. Some of them show signs of growth but many of them do not, and I think that gets overplayed way more quickly than someone who drops once every 2-5 years.

May 1, 2020I think this isn’t a fair take since Kendrick has only taken one year off from dropping music since BP soundtrack. Is supposed to drop this year. Rona might have delayed it indefinitely, but still. And whenever he releases, there’s always a good amount of content that comes along with the rollout and aftermath of the release. That’s more than enough per era.
On top of that, Kendrick only puts out quality. I’ll always be interested and keep his music in rotation for years due to that. I think music fans are too spoiled nowadays.
