so the title is a bit of an exaggeration but basically I have a of group friends I've had since high school who, for the past few years, have slowly descended down this rabbit hole that began with the basic, Disney Woke s***, then the Fresh n Fit angle, women deserve less, then we got to aliens, the jews, identity politics, flat earth! CIA, Trump... etc...

and mind you, these are black guys too. I'm not even saying that they should share the same views as I do (pretty much left leaning on many things) but they have dove off the deep end. I've witnessed them turn even the most minor things into a conspiracy plot. These dudes not even religious but now all of sudden we're in a SPIRITUAL WAR lmao okay.

I used to have the energy to debate these guys but lately it doesn't even seem worth it you know? like I could talk all day about the FACTS they love to say are the basis of their argument but eventually it all devolves into "your a sheep, we're the freethinkers who have cracked the code now what watch this 4 hour long podcast about this random ex CIA operative who says the jews are behind mickey mouse being gay"

anybody else deal with this? how do you maneuver? these are my guys but it's become harder and harder to even have normal conversations with them. luckily i have some other friends but it's getting ridiculous with them. There is no such as a normal conversation with them, everything devolves into conspiracy.

Just keep them at arms length and be there for them if they need anything serious. It’s possible a lot of them will mature and change their views when you guys get older. Very few people keep the same views they held in their early-mid 20s years down the line. If they keep it up years later, then worry about that problem then and not right now. You can never win an argument, people don’t like being told theyre wrong. They have to feel like they figured it out themselves. You can try to set them up for that experience over time, or wait and hope they do it themselves, which they probably will.

Yeah don’t debate them. They will just get offended and it won’t accomplish what you want to. Just be kind, keep them at arms length, be there for them and if there are opportunities to show them information that will make them feel like they figured it out on their own and get them on the right track then maybe send it over.
