How do we fight this?/Can you dumb down what you just said for people?

I don't want to claim to be an expert on this since I don't think I'm really capable of just proposing answers to every ill in the world. I think a lot of it is very complex and obviously we're all human at the end of the day.
That said I wouldn't say I'm like a nihilist or ultimately a pessimist. I'm a big believer in cycles; things cycle in and out of chaos and (relative) peace. I don't think any period of humanity has ever been "stable" - while people lived in relative peace and optimism in the US in the 90s for example there was genocide going on in other parts of the world. Now while some other parts of the world live in relative peace the US is culturally imploding. There will never be a time where things simply "get better" universally, and I think this is important to keep in mind. Cycles will continue in and out, for one reason or another.
Personally, I think that what people can do is focus on local communities and local socio-politics or similar. I know this isn't a flashy or big answer, but I do think there's a lot of value in local involvement and communal cooperation.
I think what many people are missing is true community and meaning. Many people have lost meaning because of a mixture of factors. I know for example conservatives will be like "it's because no one's religious anymore!!" or "people just don't have a sense of value" and people on the left can point to, say, the burden of debt consumerism and outsourcing of jobs (which is not wrong, for the record). I think there's a mixture of both. People increasingly have nothing either culturally or materially; in the past culture was at least used as a coping mechanism or community strengthener/beacon when they didn't have material value but with that now stripped away, there isn't much to either bring mutually minded communities together. Modern mass media do not help this.
I think it's hard because it's not fun and it doesn't fit into the modern paradigm of social strata. I don't mean to sound like "we need to go back to 50s and have local neighborhoods where everyone knows each other, the good ole days!" because that's really not what i mean at all.
I just think people need to step away from detrimental methods of socialization and work locally; even if this is just in your own family or friend group as opposed to entire communities. Things will continue one way or another; the best thing you can do is make the best choices for yourself and the people around you. I don't think there are distinctly "correct" ways of doing things. Many of these are such complex issues that while I could start quoting theory or literature or something, I know in reality that's not really productive. Solutions are complex and until those options appear the best you can do is ensure the best for yourself and those you care about.

No, I would highly, highly doubt that. I do think things have chances of getting worse in some manners but I don't think it's along the route of "fascism" or autocracy.

The GOP will (hopefully) revert to the pre trump rhetoric; that said, Biden better not seriously f*** up

    Conservatism IS basically fascism though.

Absolutely true, but I'd rather have the conservatives of the Romney era in congress than Q believers if for no reason besides not encouraging the homegrown terrorists

Lol if you experienced fascism then you'd be able to see the signs too in America, one would think.

Obviously it's not progressed to the degree of actually having self-proclaimed fascists/dictators in control, but it shows a lot of the similiarities of a budding fascist state imo

add oligarchy/corporatism in the mix and America's particular brand of racism and apathy toward it all and we're beat fam.

The Soviet Union a***ogy was sensatonlised and hyperbolic there i collect my L.

From the outside the country looks to be divided for the foreseeable future, and i can't see anyone who has the popularity to unite the majority of people, barring the US going to war with another nation and the people putting their differences aside for boosting morale, but that hypothetical scenario is highly unlikely.

Yet, despite the crappy leadership and divided people, the U.S. is still the worlds global economic and military powerhouse and that is unlikely to change anytime soon. The societal and cultural problems really are at the forefront right now, and perhaps that's why the impression of the US falling off is rubbing off on people due to these factors and the fact that other nations are growing further dent it's reputation.
