Yeah, I wasn't feeling this unfortunately. The kills were very cool and all when they happened (some of them were creatively impressive, one in particular may very well be an all-timer), but this was mostly just an agonizingly slow-paced snoozefest honestly. Some real astoundingly bad acting / dialogue in here as well. I appreciate the effort that went into it though and while it's not necessarily a bad movie, it honestly isn't a good one

Oof, bad performances break my heart. It's tolerable if the film is campy fun but from what you're saying, uuh....
So the kills are the standout parts only?

At least we got a 🔥 trailer out of it

Yeah, the performances legitimately felt like they were doing line readings at an audition, rough to watch/listen to. The kills were indeed the standout (that plus the movie was shot real well for the most part I'll admit), very much on the level of Mortal Kombat fatalities I'd say
Can’t try to copy Jason n just get away with it
He may walk slow, but he’ll get ya
The concept of an inverse on a slasher was enough to get me in the door. This very much feels like watching an animal hunt. Add in the gnarly kills and the dumb victims and you get a really fun slasher.
It felt like watching Jason rummage through a mid franchise Friday the 13th film.
3.5/5
Just got out of this, I enjoyed this a good amount. The concept I felt was fulfilled greatly, not only does it work seeing a slasher film told from the point of view of the killer but also as a slow burn ambient horror. There’s no soundtrack whatsoever, the environment feels serene and peaceful and the blend with the visceral violence make for a really fun time. Bad adr at the beginning aside, I found the “slasher” plot to be humorous in that its background seems to be a direct to dvd slasher rather then rip of a classic. And what it does at the end is such a rewarding treat, not only deconstructing slashers as a concept but also what it means to the people after a movie like this ends. I can see a lot of people walking out of this loving Johnny and hoping for more, myself included
8/10

Did you see A Ghost Story?
I did when it initially came out. Wasn't a fan much of that one either, though I did appreciate and respect the concept/what it was going for
This was awesome. Very well executed concept
Why are people forgetting that you are literally watching a classic trope-y horror movie, inside of another horror movie? Corn and cheese included. It was amazing to see
How does this work as a horror film? Would be entertaining to a casual fan?
Mf in front of me in the theater was on IG almost the entire time
